Jeez, it would've been quicker to fly to the UK as my AD has at least 6 in stock. (In fact I think it's the same 6 that he when the B01 first came out! )

Congrats on the pick up.

10 weeks . . .wow. And in another thread, a Breitling VP claimed they'd produced 30,000 B01 movements . . .

In any case, congrats on the B01 purchase. I've barely taken mine off since October.

Those of you that have the B01, have you been pleased with the watch? What are some pros? and are there any cons? Frankly at first I thought I would never get one but a certain one has been calling me lately.

Its a beautiful watch. Easy to read on this wrist. Easy to wear as an executive watch, but sporty enough to wear to smart casual occasions or even to upper type functions.
I love mine, its just fantastic, the other add on is that the Bo1 is still in its 1st year of manufacture with the inhouse movement, so that in itself gives this watch an added advantage- who knows maybe in time, the 1st year Bo1s will have some extra premium interms of collector and re sale value although that shouldnt play a part- if one is calling you, then have a serious look at it, in here some are dead set against the Bezel, at first I wasnt sure but the Bezel in reality isnt bad at all and indeed its pretty classy but at least thats my opinion anyway. I can't tell you what to buy, but I have absolutely no regrets about buying my Bo1, I think its just a fantastic watch.

I'm very happy with mine so far. I got a SS with black dial/white subdials just before the new year and I've been wearing it every day since. It wears very comfortably and has a nice solid heft to it.

Pros:
- Excellent movement. Mine runs between -1 to -4 seconds a day. If I use only one over night resting position, say dial up, it runs just about -2 a day very consistently. I might go to my AD and see if I can get it regulated to run a tad faster.
- Build quality is top notch
- Beautiful fit and finish
- Looks great with straps as well as with a bracelet

Cons:
- Price. It ain't cheap...
- The infamous Space Cadet Bezel. It seems that this is not everyone's cup of tea.

A point about the bezel:
Personally, I've grown to quite like it. Besides the way it looks, it's very functional. I actually often use the bezel instead of the chrono if I want to time something since it's so easy to read.

My B01 is SS with the Sierra Silver dial. Initially, it wasn't running very accurately and took several months to "break in," which is not that uncommon from what I've read. Currently, it's running consistently at +0.5 to +1.5 seconds per day, which is extremely precise. The bezel is definietly a turn off for most, but mine was a gift so I didn't have a choice. Fortunately, it really has started to grow on me, but I don't agree with Breitling's decision to put the bezel on half of the new 2010 offerings.

On a bad note, my watch will soon be going back to BUSA for service. I'm going to post another thread stating exactly what's going on with, but the short story is the sweeping chronograph hand is skipping and the minute totalizer is not functioning correctly. My AD doesn't want to touch it and is only willing to send it back to Breitling. I messed around with three other B01's while I was at the AD and was not able to replicate the issue. Hopefully it's isolated to my watch and won't impact other B01 owners.

:yeahthat

As mine has a gold croco strap it goes with practically every color of suit from brown/green to grey/black. And, you can also wear it on weekends with casual wear. It looks stunning as well.

Even though I have had many questions by different people I am not especially showing it off. But the B01 just speaks for itself. Not only that, but I surprised people staring at it at reunions when I was not looking. :lingsrock:

Also, the movement is exceptional: between -2 to -4 seconds a day and very consistent. I managed to get 61 hours power reserve out of it without even rewinding it, just by normal, everyday, wear. I'll have to try and get the 72 hours promised by Breitling one of these days, just for the heck of it. And of course, there is no question about its overall quality or finish.

Taste is of course very different among B01 buyers. And that is very interesting because there are almost infinite possibilities between the case, dial, bezel, strap/bracelet options offered by Breitling. Personally, I think that a gold case is too much, even hesitated for a gold bezel. I finally settled for a TT with Pearl dial and gold roman numerals. IMHO there are enough with black or white dials around, so I was looking for something different. And I think that the Pearl dial is quite different. The dial changes color depending on the angle you look at it or the light present from greenish to grayish/whitish. Combined with the gold croco strap it makes the B01 look stunning, much more than with a metal bracelet. And you know what? Many people around don't like the B01 bezel but that is one of the reasons that made me buy it. Easy to read and functional for almost any light condition. Maybe easier to read than the chrono for periods under 60'. But then again, that's just me.

The B01 ain't cheap of course (a supplement of around $2'000 compared to the "normal" Chronomat) but it's the first watch made by Breitling (of the modern era) with their in house movement. I am sure that alone will make it a collector, especially for those produced in 2009, the very first year of production.

Bottom line is, I just love my B01.
