Beautiful Roff and a great article, thanks for posting.

I'll be interested to hear the response to your movement queries. Sounds like it could be a lot of watch for the price.

I heard back and unfortunately it's a Valjoux 7750 based movement. Still a great watch, but............

That's a shame. North of $10k for a standard, albeit workhorse, movement could be considered a lot. Still a great watch as you say though.

I agree. It's a real shame considering some of the much more fancy movements that LM sometimes use. On the basis of this knowledge I'd say the Twintech is a better buy mechanically..... although the Jules Verne Instruments look nicer. Quite the conundrum, eh Roff?

Well yes, and it gets worse. I have been offered one of the original ones, this very watch in fact -http://ablogtoread.com/louis-moinet/louis-moinet-jules-verne-instrument-watch-review/ - Instrument 2, No. 10 in black for pretty much name my own price. Makes things even more difficult.

I have a business trip that's likely to happen next month that may put me in the same general area as a principal of Louis Moinet in North America so if we can figure out a face to face, that may lead to some interesting discussions. I have a lot of things going in my head right now - not just buying a watch.

I'm not a fan of white dials... but damn they make that white dial LM look good!
