Hi Dudes and Dudettes

I'm George60. I'm old and a veteran of many things. I live in Northern California with my wife. We are retired. I have an interest in Breitling watches ... obviously. I come to you as the bastard stepchild of all that is pure. That is - I have a replica Breitling that I need some help with.
If I have indeed stepped into the world of only authentic genuine Breitling watch owners then I am trespassing. Owning this brand of watch is an expensive undertaking - thereby limiting my participation. I have the greatest desire to be the proud owner of a piece of marvelous engineering that this watch is but stymied at the moment of parting with enough cash to purchase a decent car.

To this end I have become for the moment a reckless soul in possession of a replica Breitlling.

To my credit I have a rather well-handed mechanical skill - enjoying everything mechanical.

My recently purchased Breitling Bentley 1884 Chronograph Tourbulion (sp) stainless-steel metal bracelet black face watch will not stay running. I had it running for a few hours by assuming it has a counter-weight winding mechanism. I walked around the house rocking my wrist back and fro looking like an idiot but it worked - for a while. Now I'm unable to duplicate that success. Can someone help me?

Regards
George60

Enjoy your time here!

The "tourbillon" fakes are pieces of junk, no more than $30 holiday souvenirs. If yours has lasted more than a few weeks, you've done well. Just bin it and forget it.

You can find genuine used Breitlings for under $500 which you would recoup if/when you sold it so they can work out cheaper than fakes!

Hello and welcome.

I have to agree with Sharky here that you'd be infintely better to get hold of (funds permitting of course) an older but genuine Breitling than waste time with fakes. Over time it will be a false economy as a $200 fake may last a couple of months (and can't be repaired anywhere reputable) whereas an older genuine piece may cost you $600 or $700, but will last infinitely longer, not least because it can be serviced at an approved service centre.

Welcome to BreitlingSource.

As has been siad you own a watch that did well to last as long as it did - horrible production quality and no way to fix it reliably. A genuine mechanical Breitling will last hundreds of years with proper maintenance, and as has been said they don't need to be ridiculously expensive.
