I will submit this raw concept to Breitling for my new "Occupationals" watch - The Limited Edition Juris Doctor. The 10th of an hour ticks are very functional, though it would be better if they progressed geometrically. Here's hoping.

I wear a Breitling BO1, a Tudor Prince Chrono, or one of four Rolexes to work every day. A dentist SHOULD wear a nice watch!

How true. Buy the watch you can't live without. Visit your local AD and spend sometime putting watches on your wrist.
Good luck and keep us informed,
Regards, Mike

I'm a dentist. Handwashing is a definite issue but I wear my PAMs with leather straps all time. ;)

Well, I agree with what someone else said about washing your hands often. I find when I wear my watches with straps I worry a little about wearing an expensive croc and getting it wet too often so I tend to wear either rubber straps or bracelets or lately aftermarket straps that can take a beating including a good full dunk at the end of the day and a scrub with some soap to get rid of any cling-ons you don't want to take home with you. I love some of Breitling's new rubber straps options and have several Diver Pro, a couple of the newer "II" version and the Ocean Racer. All are excellent.

As far as which watch, I'd say a chronograph is a must in our profession. I find it invaluable when timing final impressions and numbing times, etc. I find I'm using my chrono's pretty much all day long. As a matter of fact, every watch I own is a chronograph, come to think of it.

I have mostly Breitlings in my collection, everything from Bentleys to Super Avengers (white dial and a Blacksteel), chrono avengers in different colours, old navi and a navi world as well, Hercules, Chronomats, etc... I've got about 18 Breitlings in my collection currently, and I find lately I'm wearing less of the "flashy" models like the Bentleys or the Super Avenger, and more of the Avenger series. I currently wear my Skyland a lot, and I love my M1 with it's full-dial minute totalizer. Very easy to read.

One suggestion would also to look for something with a flyback. I have a Panerai with this feature and it's so handy... one click and it's reset and running again without having to hit three times (stop, reset, start). Wish Breitling would make some more of these.

So, here's my suggestion... Avenger Skyland, black dial on bracelet, and get an Ocean Racer with the excellent deployant and a few different straps and you're set up for a while.

Anyway, hope that helps! Congrats on getting your liscence, and enjoy the fruits of your labour!!

Cheers

Ross

Hi Robert! Good to see you as well. I've been reading this forum for the longest time and recently wondered why I never posted here... this post seemed like an appropriate place to start. Seems like a good group on here as well.

Hope all is well in your beautiful southern climate!!

Cheers

Ross

Don't buy a watch and pass the savings to your customers :uplaugh:

I think i paid something like $6000 to get a crown back in the early 2000's in New York. Insurance stepped in and paid 'some' of it, but it's disgusting compared to what you pay in Canada (buddy got a crown 2 years ago in Montreal, paid $650 with no insurance i believe).

For a crown? Seriously? Was it made of diamonds?

Not even, AND i had to get it 'redone' here in Canada a couple years after. My current dentist said something along the line 'shitty overpriced american work' (but in French).

I pay nothing here (except regular visit fee) with my Foreign French Insurance :)

Did i mention i hate going to the dentist? (But i still got at least once a year). It's one of the rare things that actually scare me (it gives me shivers). I have done/seen some pretty f****d up things, but i think going to the dentist is the worst... I think its the noises.... bzz bzzz bzzz URGH!!!!!! :guns:
