Wanted to quietly add my kudos along with all who have praised George for providing good pricing and service. My SuperOcean Steelfish with silver dial on brown stap (and matching bracelet!) arrived yesterday. On time, as promised. A pleasure to deal with. Thanks also to Justin. This is as good as it gets! Someone refer me to a "how to upload photos" thread and I'll try and post them.

Congrats Skip, glad everything worked out well.

Congrats also to you Clark, that was very quick turnaround.

I'm looking forward to seeing pics of both.

It joins a Black Chrono Superocean, a Black Rolex Submariner, Blue "Bond" Omega Seamaster and Blue Tag Heuer Chrono Aquaracer all clamoring for attention!

i heard breitling is going around to dealers and making them sign agreements not to ship anymore, internet or what not, so no phone orders. they just pulled the line from hamilton jewlers, thats big. my guy hooked up a bunch of people for me like that, and now he cant. wonder when they are gonna knock on govberg's door.

apparently they are really trying to keep the value in the brand, its better for all of us in the long run.

That's going to really suck for people who don't live near AD's.

You know, I wouldn't mind that so much if they actually exerted some small semblance of quality control on their ADs. But let's face it, some ADs are much much better than others. Competition should let the good ones thrive and the bad ones fail. "Keeping value in the brand" by forcing me to go to a dealer that treats me like crap?? I don't think so. Just because I get something sent to me in the mail doesn't mean I don't value good service.

Furthermore, what about dealerships in places like Vegas? Technically, I can still buy from them if I am physically present (I would hope), but what about the point of establishing personal relationships with specific dealers? If I buy something from an AD in Vegas, and I really like that dealership, I would like to be able to call them on the phone and deal with them again rather than being forced to go to my local dealer. For a number of brands, I prefer specific ADs in Vegas over my local one. I know specific people in each and I only deal with them. When I am in their shops, they treat me well because they know I am a long term customer (or potentially one if I have not purchased from them, yet).

If the Vegas ADs can only sell to you in person, then they really have reason to screw you over rather than treat you well.

Mercedes and BMW have both tried this kind of thing, and I don't think it has worked for either one because it interferes with quality control through natural selection.

Wow. That's the first I've heard about that. Really unfortunate for some.
