I am torn between the following models.

Super Avenger - White dial
SuperOcean Steelfish - Silver dial
Avenger Seawolf - Stratus Silver dial

I know that the Steelfish is a dive watch and the others are not. Since it won't be used for diving (maybe swimming, which you are able to do with any of these watches)... which is better and why?

Thanks!

Have you tried any of them on? Im sure that would help you narrow it down some.

I have tried them all on. The SA seemed huge on my wrist, but the SO Steelfish almost looked small. I won't think that the 2.60mm difference in thickness would make that much of a difference.

I am looking for an everyday watch, if that helps.

In the case you felt the SA huge, and the Steelfish almost too small, then you need the Avenger Seawolf, which is in between those two.

BTW, the Steelfish looks and wears smaller than its diameter (44mm) would lead you to believe. I think it's mostly because of the way its bezel and dial is designed.

You need to try all 3 watches on, preferably at the same AD. If you can try them on one after the other, or even put them on your wrist simultaneously, you'll know which one suits you best. We cannot tell you which one is better than the other, because that is a highly subjective comparison.

The SA feels big, for a few days, then you get used to it, i am more comfortable with it on than off.

I think it's the best in regards to price/WR.

SA of course. So many people talk about how the SA is too big, well if it's sized properly and stays in place on your wrist I don't think the actual physical size of the watch will be a problem for you and how you wear it. I can't ever recall someone saying wow, that watch wears too big on your wrist or vice versa, lol. If the watch looks good to you, feels good on you then don't worry about anything else. Besides, it's a BREITLING!

You can't go wrong with any of the models you listed. My rule of thumb on size is if the tip to tip (of the lugs) are wider than your wrist, then the watch might be a little too big for you. Its my personal preference but a watch that is larger (lug tip to tip) than a wrist width looks a little cartoony (ie, Flav a Flav). Some people get the SA just because its the biggest and really has that "gansta" look..... when on a small wrist. I am not into that look. I am lucky with a 7 3/4 wrist, so the SA fits good. But it is far from my most comfortable watch.

As far as comfort, my Steelfish (on an Ocean Racer strap) is worn almost everyday as my beater and I love it. It is really comfortable, not heavy at all, and the water resistance means it can go anywhere I go.

I further suggest going to the AD, strapping on each (have the bracelet adjusted to your wrist) and walk around with them on. A watch feels a lot different hanging on the arm while walking than when up in your face while you stare at the dial!! :)

Well.... after doing a ton of research, ready, and talking with other Breitling owners I know, I went back a local AD today and tried on six different watches. I ended up going with the charcoal dial SA on a bracelet.

I love the wieght and feel of the watch.

I am 6'0", 240 lbs with a 6 3/4" wrist. I hope it looks good without being to flashy. I think that the charcoal dial really tones it down. I like it so that is really all that matters right!! Besides... its a BREITLING. How bad could it be? Its not covered in diamonds.

The SA is without a doubt the biggest bang for ur bucks (pun intended) Breitling. On my 6-3/4" wrist it looks perfect. But I do agree as someone posted previously, ur personality and attitude plays a lot with how well the SA fits ur wrist. No disrespect & apologize in advance for the stereotype -- but it's prob not suitable for the desk-bound, non-gym-rat, accountant types...

If u do get a SA, u should also certainly check out the crocs & leathers bands, which looks stunning on a white SA. Will also wear differently size-wise.

Lastly, being one of the most identifiable (if not iconic) BREITLING, I think the SA also retains its value quite well, and very easy to flip. Especially if u buy pre-owned, or new from US AD with their 25% or even 30% discounts.

Good luck & post wrist shots once u buy ur white SA! :D

The dial on my SA is black with white sub-dials. It is not a dark black so to me it looks charcoal. My bad... newbie mistake!!!!

No disrespect on the bling comment. I was referring to the watch I recently noticed on her covered in diamonds. I think a dial bezel is very classy, but isn't for me.

I'm not a guy rat, but I do like to keep in shape and work out. I have a desk job and dress business casual (khakis and polo or oxford type shirts). On the weekends, I am more of a tee shirt and jeans type guy.

Down the road, I am going to look for another Breitling with the matte steel finish (Steelfish) probably. It is just a nice toned down look to the polished. I did inquire yesterday about a croc strap at the AD. I just haven't decided what color to get. Probably black since its a black dial.

What is a good tool to purchase in order to be able to change between the bracelet and strap myself?
