How does one really know if the Diver Pro Straps on Ebay for $60 are real or not? Any one ever buy off there? It seems like you can get a steal however, I'm not too sure if I can trust Ebay. they all say they are over stocked items etc..

Thanks

I've read some comments about rubber straps on ebay here. Some people have gotten fakes. They could tell by the "rubbery" smell and by the white color when they bent the strap over on itself. The real deal doesn't have these issues.

The truth is, if it seems to good to be true, it probably is.

Spend the extra $20 and get it from an AD.

The old fakes had only 9 holes so were easy to spot.

The new ones have 10 like the gens so you can't tell until it arrives. The rep strap is stiffer than the gen and that's about it.

The gen is $110 but I'd suggest you pay the extra for peace of mind.

And, as an aside, the rep Diver Pro is the worst value replica made - it's over half the price of the genuine!

+1. It's not that much more money, and you know it's the real deal.

I bought one on ebay last year from Singapore. Great service and it really looked genuine. However, the strap broke where it attached to the buckle after being worn only 25-30 times.

I posted about this recently and based on the replies, it was probably a fake, as the rubber turned white when I folded the strap back on itself. The genuine ones supposedly do not do that.

I just tried to purchase a new genuine one thru my AD, but BUSA says they are discontinued and have no more in stock.
