I really like the looks of the Raven, but have a few questions as you are the first member to own one (I think).

Is the bezel a hard rubber or DLC'd steel?

How are the numbers on the bezel applied (paint)?

Thanks

Good questions Broncosport, as those were the first 2 questions I had for my AD. The bezel is hard rubber over SS. The bezel numbers and markers are inlaid brushed SS. My first thought was the bezel markers were painted and I didn't want to get near it, but if you look closely at the pics you will see thery are brushed SS.

The bezel is primarily rubber and there is a slight, but discernable difference in weight between the Skyracer and the Raven.

I really am enjoying the heck out of this watch.

WOW that is actually not bad at all, I did not like the model when it was announced but it has grown on me after seeing your pics. Congrats on a nice pick up and a great color choice too! Love the slate!

I hope you do not mind, but what kind of price range did your AD give you?

$4K. Would have been a couple hundred more with the Pro II bracelet.

Her's one of the things I really like about the Skyracer design as silly as it may sound - it looks like an Aeromarine and a Professional had a baby.

Very cool watch! I like the way the outer slide-rule bezel is black on the grey dial. Is it the same on the Airwolf Raven I wonder?

I love the chronograph/countdown bezel combo, especially with the central minute counter - so useful and easy to read. Have you noticed the standard SS bezel is missing marks either side of "45" and "30"? Not really a big deal, but nice to see they've fixed it on the raven model.

Yep. Great watch. Now I want one!

Not until you pointed it out. "15" "30" and "45" are larger than the other Arabic numerals on the bezel just like the rider tab "15, 30, and 45" are on the Aeromarine models. The absence of the hash marks on each side of 30 and 45 are just like the absence of them on the Aeromarine. Not sure why the are present at "15" on the SS Skyracer bezel, except the width of 30 and 45 is slightly greater to accommodate height uniformity. As I look at my Skyracer and try to picture "15" without the hash marks, it strikes me the # would look a bit stranded. The larger "15, 30, and 45" gives the bezel a slight Aeromarine feel and I like that.

All the Arabics on the Raven are uniform size so the hash marks fit but the look lacks the hint of Areomarine on the standard Skyracer.

Not sure if there is any functional purpose - I doubt it. I like both looks.

Off topic, but The Raven looks out of place on the Pro II strap. The Skyracer I have looks equally as good on the Pro II bracelet and the Diver Pro II strap. Were I to pick a single look it would be the exact configuration pictured here. But the black dial standard Skyracer has the extra versatility of 2 very different looks - bracelt vs strap. FWIW

Being such a fan of the original skyracer I wasn't sure how I'd receive the Raven but it actually looks alright. Congratulations on the pick up.

Very nice skyracer. The skyracer was one of the first models that attracted me to Breitling, almost bought the black dial but price was the hold-up (ended up with a steelfish). I still love that look with the two sub-dials, size is good too.

Enjoy! I agree, looks great with diver pro II.
