In 2005 I bought my First SA in St Thomas. I just so happen to be going back this April and naturally Im stopping by the same AD and im thinking of getting a new watch. Ive been doing some searching and im a little torn. So Id like some opinions. Im stuck between a Steelfish or a heritage 46. This might be the last watch for me. Im a big guy so the 38 is out of the question.

Heritage 46. Fits the dressy look, casual look, and goes with everything in between.

Problem is I ultimately want the Chrono but im 100% positive thats gonna hurt for way too long lol. Id be settling for the 46. My SA is kind of along the same lines as the steelfish. Man this is tough.

I'd definitely go with the Heritage 46 without a doubt. Completely different look from an SA or Steelfish and very versatile! Don't settle for the 46 if you really want the chrono because you'll still be longing for it long after, lol.

That would be a firm hell to the no. However I was looking at prestige time. I think ive come up with a plan. Im getting the heritage 46 with the ocean racer strap im not liking the bracelet. Then next year ill try to pick up the steelfish because its cheaper lol!!!!Or maybe a xmas gift to myself. I am now very excited. Thanks for your input. :lingsrock:

Although that's a trusted site, you have to be careful with those grey market dealers. You don't want to always sacrifice quality, warranty and piece of mind for a few hundred dollars.

I would pm jnelson3097 to at least get a comparison quote from George at Govberg. Price may not be quite as good, but it's peace of mind using an AD.

I received a pm from him. I never intended to buy from prestigetime. I was just referencing that for a price point. I can wait and there is no rush. Thanks for your input I plan on giving a ring hopefully tomorrow.

I got a Heritage 46, black on Monday. I really like it and I got it with the Diver Pro II (solid) strap/deployment clasp. i find the simple, clean look of the Diver Pro II more suited to the - well - simple, clean look of the 46. I imagine it would look plenty dressy with a black calf strap.

I also have and love the Steelfish (in silver and blue). A Diver Pro II(tang buckle) is an inexpensive addition to the Pro II bacelet - 2 watches for one - for the blue. For the silver I prefer the light brown ("gold") calf strap ( about $125) as an extra look to the Pro II bracelet.

Even though the 46 is newer to me, were I to choose one - it would be the Steelfish blue with the Pro II bracelet and the Diver Pro II tang buckle strap (the latter of with is merely an $80-85 add on.

If you are a "lume guy," you may be a little disatisfied with the 46. Other than the hands there are just the tiniest of hour dots.

I'm still not convinced about the mesh bracelet for the 46 and given it's price - about $600 - i'd have to be darn convinced.

The Diver Pro II cleans up and dries quicker and easier than the Pro I or the ocean racer for the same reason - the grooves.

Just MHO.

Well my SA doesnt have much lume either lol Id say a 2 out of 10 compared the the fish which is like a 7-8 out of 10 so thats not an issue. I just want something different wearing the SA everyday is kind of getting old its too huge although the 46 is still large i think the thickness will play a big part since it has just a DW. Thanks for the opinions again!

you can't go wrong with either one! Of all my Breitlings, the 2 most likely to get a "nice watch!" from others are the SOH46 and the Steelfish. Enjoy!
