This is probably more of a question to the Breitling for Bentley owners, (or Thomas perhaps), but anyone who knows then please chip in -

I recently saw on eBay a pretty cool and apparently genuine Breitling for Bentley box for sale. It was basically the same as the standard current model Breitling box in shape, but was different in the following ways -

The outer cardboard case was a dark green colour where the standard one is yellow and had "Breitling for Bentley" written on one side only. The top part was also green where the standard Breitling box is black. The inner box was the same shape as the usual Bakelite box, but apparently made of something like highly polished walnut and didn't have the Breitling wording on it. The inside had a light brown velvet lining (with "Breitling for Bentley" embossed in it) and the inner travel case was in green leatherette as opposed to the black of the standard type.

My question is, is this a genuine style of Bentley box (coz it looked way cool!) or is it some dodgy knock-off?

(Sorry I know that :uselesspics: , but the auction has ended and I didn't think to copy it down at the time).

This one?

My Bentley came in a green outer box, however the inside was pretty much identical to the current Breitling range - I suspect that this one is probably for one of the solid gold models.

Just out of memory, it is correct that the Bentley outer box is dark green (and a rather dark green too) instead of yellow. There my memory stops... The finish (black bakelite or walnut) of the inner box is something I have to check when I get home. Also, I think the inside of my inner box is similar to the Breitling boxes rather than to fit your description, but I'll look at this too. Of course, the box you saw could be special for the model it once contained.

I also have the dark green outer box, but the bakerlight box is similar to 'standard' but with Breitling for Bentley wording in gold on top.
(which has come off slightly as I licked it too much)

Yeah, that's the box! It's not the same auction as the one I saw has now ended, but it's definitely the same box. So the general consensus is that it's genuine? It's looks pretty smart.

If you look at his evaluations, he seems to have sold quite a few of these (and other) Breitling boxes...

Nice box, genuine or not!....seems genuine to me....the high-end gold ones tend to get the full wood boxes...same with rolex!

Nothing at all to do with this thread - noticing your logon name and the avatar - I thought the TT-S was only available with a petrol engine...

Those walnut and green boxes are for Gold editions. The new Breitling for Bentley boxes are pretty much identical to the regular breitling boxes in color and everything except that they say Breitling for Bentley on them instead of Breitling. The inner travel case is also black on the standard Bentleys, not green. Oh yeah.. the outer box I think is Black and Black on a bentley, but Black and yellow on a regular breitling.
