Howdy everyone!

I'm a first timer to this forum but a long time Breitling fan. For all you CSO experts out there, what year did Breitling amend the case design to include the Helium valve at the 10 position as it sits currently?

Was this a relatively recent thing?

That's probably quite a tough question, even for people who own them. It might be worth a phone-call to your country's Breitling office to see if they can tell you.

That said, you might find someone one here who knows. This place is a collection of bizarre and random knowledge!

I don't know if i understand your question correctly, but the current CSO model does not include an Helium escape valve. I had mine in october and the manufacture is in 05/2009.

Well, that's what I thought was odd. I've got a late 2006 model and it doesnt have it either. However, I've seen reviews that show it at the 10 position and tried on one at an AD that had it as well. Just trying to figure out if it's a US thing or if it's based on some release at Basel that I might've missed. Not super concerned one way or the other as I'm certain the watch won't be attached to my wrist if I'm ever that deep anyway but...just curious.

Interesting, AFAIK Avenger seawolf Chrono, Avenger Seawolf, Superocean Steelfish and Superocean are the only ones available with the valve. Do you remember where you read the review on the CSO?

At least as of 2009, the helium escape valve is gone from the CSOs.

I honestly don't recall but I it was a youtube review if I'm not mistaken...maybe a blue dialed one?

CSO never had it.

I was back in the dealers the other day and tried on the CSO. No helium valve but now I have another decision to make, CSO or Superocean with a blue face?
I love the CSO very much.

CSO all the way...the SO is sweet (IMHO probably one of the best "bargains" in the Breitling line) but the dial config and overall thickness of the CSO is perfect!! you can't go wrong either way but the chrono...get the chrono!

I agree! Get the CSO. IMHO the underrated of the Aeromarine range. It's not like 42mm makes a small watch either. They all look great on the Pro II and the white (silver) looks terrific on a brown calf strap and the black on a black calf strap. All three look nice on a Diver Pro II. So whatever you get, make it 3 looks. Or not......................

I have a CSO from around 05 and it doesn't have an escape valve. As far as I know there has never been or currently is a CSO with an escape valve
