I think they're going a little OTT with these blacksteel versions.

SA and AS were enough IMO.

What I love about the BB is the brushed case and that bracelet.

Is this honestly for real?!?!?! It's not just a joke mock up???

If this is real, then it's utterly ludicrous. With the original BS AS, the BS SA, the BS SWC, the new BS Avenger Superquartz that Davey posted about yesterday, then that makes this one the 5th Blacksteel model that Breitling have made! :idontgetit: :whiner:

Pathetic.

Agreed!

However, I am pretty sure it is not a Breitling image.

Unusual timing for an announcement less than 3 weeks before Basel.

Nothing one way or another from my contacts, but they do tend to be rather busy and tight lipped at this time of year.

Yes it's for real, like it or not. I have the polished Blackbird and think the Blacksteel is, well being kind, unusual. It will hit the stores in about 2 months.

And yes it's from my Breitling AD. Personally I'm not a fan of any of the Blacksteel watches, but that's just individual preference. I wasn't a fan of the brushed BB he showed me and picked up the polished from a different AD. I'm trying to picture it on the extra faceted pilot bracelet - in BLACK. While my BB looks great on a brown leather strap and Diver II/deployment clasp, the real buying point for me was the shimmering bracelet.

So buck up, it'll be in your AD's display case soon. Don't shoot the messenger. :guns: :lingsrock:

Fellas! I don't know WHO took the friggin' pic, but it's from my AD in an email from Thursday. 2 months is what he told me before it's available.

I'm really not a fan of Blacksteel versions. But i must admit that this one goes well with the name of the watch..

Blackbird...in blacksteel...

I have seen that same picture from a reliable source. I am 99% sure it is legit. I also heard that there will be yet another black steel.....

I don't see why everyone is freaking out. I you don't like blacksteal versions don't buy them. Obviously there is a market for these watches. They wouldn't have made them without undo research. Hell, I'd get one if they would get the bracelet right. (well, maybe)

Yes it might be a lazy way to introduce new models, but I don't think the economy is helping their decision to make new models like a polished 46mm white dial bigbird (still working on the name).

AND THE FACT IS, IF THEY MAKE 2000 WORLD WIDE, ONLY 300 COME TO THE US, THATS LESS THAN 1 PER AD, SO ITS NOT LIKE THEY WILL BE EVERYWHERE.

I think this is the point people are upset about. It shows a lack of ingenuity and the sense of "Just slap some DLC on a model to make the hoi polloi happy."

It's a "nice" option for those who'd like it, but just seems half-assed.

I had a feeling more BlackSteel models would be introduced and decided to trade my ASBS last year; what ticked me off the most was the intro of the SABS. So much for having a special watch. :(

Wasn't the ASBS supposed to be the "only" such model?

Looking back, it seems like I made a wise decision ....

Maybe it will be an option with every new Breitling sold: WOULD YOU LIKE SOME BS TREATMENT WITH THAT NEW WATCH?
