I am traveling 2 1/2 hours to Kansas City to get my very first luxury watch. There is 2 AD's so Im off to both tomorrow. I cant wait. I have been saving for 3-4 months and have enough to buy a Breitling now (a real nice Breitling... not a Bentley but almost!)

If only I could have made up my mind about which one.... Of course it will all depend on the stock "on hand". I dont want to order one, I want to wear it home!.

Short list

EVO with anthracite dial
EVO with slate and black
Skyracer with slate and black
Skyracer with white dial
Skyland Blacksteel
Super Avenger with black dial

I really like the NAVI's but the whole no waterproof is a deal breaker..

I will report back tomorrow night (hopefully) with the purchase details.

Later

Scott

Well, I know you will not get much sleep tonight! Neither would I, if I was in your shoes. I can sense the excitement!
All the ones on your list sound fantastic. I hope you can at least see a Blacksteel. I was fortunate enough to score one this week! I think once you see the Skyland Avenger, you will be pretty impressed. It also comes with a grey dial, by the looks of your list you like the grey.Who knows, you may even come home with one that is not on your list which you found you like better! Any way you slice it, you will have a new Breitling, and as far as I'm concerned it just doesn't get any better than that! Have fun, and I will eagerly await your post tomorrow.
Cheers,
Carl

Hi my name is Scott and Im an addict. A Breitling addict that just bought 2 BREITLINGS THE SAME DAY SAME TRIP! Yep you read that right, 2 Breitlings in one day and this was my first and second high end watch purchases...ever!

Heres the scoop. I went up to KC (2.5 hours to go to a previously attended AD in Overland Park, KS. But there was another AD listed in north KC, MO... so I check them out. Night and day difference in AD. This AD is called MEIEROTTTO's and they are fantastic. Awesome selection. They have at least 30 Breitlings on display and over a 4 hour period I personally saw another 3 dozen different Breitlings brought out from the back. This "jewelry" shop also carried darn near every other brand of watch from Rolex to Seiko. But screw that I was star struck at the Breitling selection and after a VERY patient sales lady and 4 hours of trying on watches and a fantastic price, I bought a Chronomat Evolution black dial with silver subs on the pilot bracelet AND because it was just so darn cute..... I also bought a SO Steelfish on a rubber strap ( and a winder) :)

Only crappy thing for me is a little wait. Out of state purchase being shipped to me, is saving me a lot of money in sales tax.... so I cant wait for Wed when the UPS man brings me my toys.

I was really close to getting the bronze 6.75.... but the EVO just drew my attension so much (oh and so did the Steelfish, ooops :) ). The SA was just too darn big for my wrist. The Skyracer (they had every dial color!) was cool but a little to busy in a small dial space for my liking. The Navi World was awesome but the waterproof deal was the deal breaker.

I also tried on a PAM... gotta have one now... dammit. This hobby is gonna get expensive!

SO.... I cant wait for my EVO and Steelfish to arrive and if I can manage the macro on my camera, I will get some pictures posted. Thanks to all for answering my newbie questions leading up to today.

My face is cramping up from the grin....

Scott

Good for you! More sleepless nights till the watches arrive.
I know you will enjoy both very much. I can vouch for the Steelfish, I got one a couple of weeks ago.
Cheers,
Carl

Where do you live?

Chance lives in KC......

Good luck with your decision.

I live in a town 25 miles from Wichita. I sure wish there was an AD in Wichita.

And yes I got an excellent deal. It was kinda funny. After I decided, finally, on the EVO.... I ask to see the Steelfish. They didnt have the Steelfish in the display case, so she had to get it from the back. After seeing it on my wrist I thought that it would be a watch I might wear every day. (The EVO is not a "work with my hands" type watch IMO). I didnt really like the brushed bracet so I ask her to put it on the black rubber strap. That sold me on wanting one. I love bracelets but this watch looks fantastic on the black rubber strap. She said that she would give a a very good deal on it, expecially since I was buying the EVO and winder. I said I better not a few times and looked over to my wife, who was suppose to be the voice of reason, to hear her say "you should get them both!" The sales lady quoted me a real nice combo price. I was kinda stunned at first and then promptly decided that I really did need them both! I have no will power. I guess I am gonna have to start saving for a Starliner for her:) and a Panerai as well!

common Wed...........
