:?

I just tried to remove my Pro 2 from my Steelfish for the first time since I bought it 6 weeks ago. While I was removing the 2nd spring bar. it broke and the spring came out of the tube. I was however able to fix the spring back in the tube and put the broken top metal piece back on it. I feel that it's pretty secure after I put the strap on and put the broken spring bar back in.

However, I assumed that the spring bars from Breitling are supposed to be strong and am pretty dissapointed. I am looking to purchase some new ones and need some help. My local AD (St. Lucia) is never helpful, so I need somebody to help me source some OEM spring bars for a Steelfish.

Who can help me or knows any good aftermarket spring bars that I can buy online...?

Thanks

Frei and Borel out of California stock quality stuff.

There springbar page is - http://www.ofrei.com/page475.html

From memory bracelet springbars are 1.60mm (strap are definitely 1.80mm), but measure the one that you have to check.

Breitling springbars shouldn't break just because you are removing the strap, and I would be very wary of using the watch with a broken springbar - the only evidence that you have a problem will be when your watch falls off.

I swear that the spring bar broke just like that. I read somewhere that the bracelet spring bars are 1.50 MM in stead of the 1.60 you mention. Anyway. I'll double check. What about buying bars from ebay...? Ofrei shipping is expensive...

BTW, should I contact La Swiss in Toronto about this incident or forget about it? There seem to be alot of people who can't believe that the spring bar broke at changing the strap for the first time.

La Swiss will blame you, I guarantee it.

Their attitude will be that Breitling springbars don't just break and it must have been the way that you removed them / the tool you used / etc. They might offer to send you some as they are a low cost item, but they will be sceptical.

You might be right on the 1.50mm, all of mine are on watches right now and while I could take one off to measure it I figured that you could measure it just as well as yours has to come off anyway
