first of all i did'nt mention george's name or even tell the local ad it was in phili, i said jersey. i was just surpised by the difference in price of $700. second i thought something fishy was going on with big price differance so i checked the feedback section and found so many good reviews about george and now trust him. i hope i did'nt offend anybody.

No offence taken. As long as you don't tell the local AD the name of the AD you're calling, it's not a problem. I know you talked to George since I spoke with him yesterday and told him to expect a call. I actually talked with him right after you got the phone with him and he said he was hoping to help you out. What the local AD said is wrong. I know Rolex really cracks down on sales over the phone but it's not a problem with Breitling.

Thanks for the support Roff. As I've said before, George loves helping out members of this forum and I hope nobody is using simply as a bargaining chip with their local ADs. I know the majority of people that have contacted him have bought from him and they've all had pleasant experiences. As always, anyone can send me a PM at any time for his info. I'm happy to oblige. The only thing I ask is that you don't call there demanding what others may have paid. I usually let them know what typically to expect and anything more than that is great for them.

As I client of George, I would concur with all that was written.

To the new guy: this really is the most friendly, helpful forum online. I have seen recent posts on other sites where someone was berated for simply seeking an AD recommendation. Not to worry, you have found a good group here.

Ramps the message will stay in your outbox until the recepient opens his mail and retrieves it. Kind of the weird way the PM system works here. :)

Where are you based? I can recommend many good AD's in the UK!! You certainly should not be paying retail prices. Most good AD's normally offer at least 15% off the retail, depending on the watch. Be careful buying online though because you dont know where your watch is going to be coming from!!

I just wish we someone like George here in Europe where prices seems to be much higher than in the US.
I would be interested in your suggestions, Charles40, as I am bying my first Breitling - either the Steelfish or Skyland, blue dial - as soon as I can match my savings with the right price (I am in Denmark).
Anyone knows if collective buys have ever been organised for a maximum discount?

I've purchased a B-1 from him last May, and I was pleasantly suprised on how great AD he is. I've got a nice price quote, paid with credit card, opted for DHL insured delivery, and it all went quick and smooth. I highly recommended him to everyone who lives in the EU and wants to buy a Breitling.

...they said it was not legal for a out of state dealers to send the watch to a state that has a dealer already.

That is absolute BS. Many out-of-state dealers that I have visited in person have been very quick to offer to ship the watch back to me, thereby avoiding having to charge sales tax. Who knows, maybe Breitling officially discourages this practice, but it seems to be alive and well.

As for you, you can buy from any AD in the world. Go with the one that gives you the best combination of service and price.

ADs will tell you anything. One actually flat out denied that there were such things as grey market dealers. He said any Breitling being advertised on the internet has to be fake because "it is illegal" (his exact words) to advertise a Breiting on the web. By the same reasoning, all other luxury watches you see on the internet are therefore also fakes. The guy practically had a heart attack when I told him I about all the authentic Breitlings I have seen at the local Costco. He said he would "have them reported," whatever that means.
