Hi guys. I'm not very familiar with IWCs. I saw a local ad for an IWC top gun. Beautiful watch, but the only ones i've seen are double chronographs. The one being sold is not, and i can't seem to find one on the IWC website. Is this authentic? Thanks guys. Please see the pics the seller sent.

I'm not an expert on fake IWCs, but I can't see anything obviously wrong with that one.

There is definitely a Top Gun single chrono. It's 44mm whereas the double chrono is 46mm.

I think it's discontinued so may not be on the IWC website. Reference is 3789-01, if that helps.

I have seen the single-chrono version in person at an AD. It's a beauty. That certainly looks like what I saw, but I'm far from an expert. The case, caseback, crown, pushers, and hands all look OK.

There are two versions. Single chrono (44mm) and Dopplechrono (46mm).

The pictures you have above are of the replica single chrono version. It's a very well replicated piece.

Here's 2 of my own pictures of the TG ceramic.

I'm not familiar enough with this model to say if the pics you posted are of a fake or not, but as Jay said, I'm always very wary of the 44mm version as there is a very accurate fake of it out there. The 46mm Dopplechrono by comparison is not currently faked very well.

Arthur, Check out the website link removed by Roff. and look at the IWC pilot watches. I think you will see your answer there after looking at the photos of the IWC top gun. This place has unreal copies....be careful. Rick

Sorry Rick - had to remove the website as it's against the rules to show replcia sites. I'm sure that the OP would appreciate the information via PM though.

How can you tell it's a replica?? I have found what I think is the same replica on other sites, too, and even with more pics I can't tell the difference between yours and the fake.

That is scary.
