just wanted to know the typical wait time you have had when ordering a breitling that needed to come from swiss?
my dealer told me 8 weeks, is that about right? or are they just saying that to keep me on the hook.
im into week 7 and so ready for my super avenger!!!

Don't know. I've never had to order one.

They are Breitlings, not Richard Mille ;)

8 weeks is actually pretty good.

I ordered a custom piece that had to be scheduled into production and it took about 4 months. With a standard combination it's simply a case of reserving one from a production run and having it added to a regular shipment to the distributor and then to your AD. Your AD should be able to establish where it is in the process.

I ordered on April 2007 and did not receive it until Sept 2007. That could have been a popular watch, or a bad AD or a combination. I will say when I opened the box, the wait seemed less important.

What kind of Super Avenger would take that long?

Yeah, really. :? My local AD (which is crappy BTW) has 5-6 in stock. The illustrious George likely has 20.

Wow 8 weeks for a super avenger...
George from Govberg ordered mine and it took a week to get it in from BUSA. I wanted the batons instead of numerals, but I figured a week would be normal... I guess I was lucky. :D

I know that right now the black batons is on big time back order. 10-12 weeks for our stock order where I work...ouch!

I wouldn't think it would be more than a week like ravenloff said. Do some ADs just have a lot more pull with BUSA than others? I know George has told me their usually in the top 5 as far as sales of Breitlings in the USA each year.

I know that if it is a sold order than they are put in the front of the line and it would be like 2-3 weeks. Obviously they give priority to those orders.

Normally i would agree that one should NEVER wait more than normal shipping time to get a SA...I just wounldn't accept that and move forward until one was easily located..

BUT, it does seem that there is a backlog from Breitling on these models.

I just got a white dial with stencils, but I was looking at the baton dial first, but was told they had no idea when they would be able to get one in...

So, in this case, you may really have to wait..

OP stated that the watch is coming from Switzerland, so wait times from distributor don't really apply - assumption has to be that the distributor doesn't have stock.
