Thanks for your prompt response, & putting me out of my misery in the process.

Much appreciated.

Yip the lack of quick date is a royal pain in the arse for me as I don't put it on a winder and only wear it occasionally so usually I don't bother setting the date! Is that bad? :D

Congrats! I just bought the exact same one Monday night from my favorite AD. Same as you, I went with the silver dial. I have #61/1000. I absolutely love this watch!

Holy smoke! #61 - that's pretty great! Andrew, isn't yours in the 600 range? Mine in 595 but in the black dial.

As for the quick date, you are moving from the 9 to 12 position to advance the date, right? You are not going ALL the way around?

Andrew - I also don't bother with the date since I don't wear it every day and don't have a winder.

Cheers

Concrats, i love the LE as well, but cant justify having them both i think.
It sure looks like the sohc is becoming a bit of a favourite breitling with the non-breitling fans aswell.
Its clean and classy, love mine to death.

Congrats with your new watch. :lingsrock:

You can sort of "quick-set" the date by moving the hands just past midnight, then move them back to 9.00pm, and then forward to midnight again to make the date change.

I have the same model and was fiddling around with this until I found out.

I was very happy when I looked at the case back and saw 61/1000...very cool.

It was my AD that told me that there's no date quick set.
The owners manual states clearly that you should pull the crown out to position #2 to quick set the date. :x
No wonder you get confused. :?

Is that the instruction manual for the SOHC anniversary edition?

Wouldn't be the first time that the AD supplied the wrong instruction booklet.

Rof, err... I mean Professor Rof, mine came with a Ltd Ed version owners manual. Has the pic of the LE on the inside cover. Why do people refer to this as the 25th Anniversary? I haven't seen any document calling it that, just people here on the forum?

No idea why they refer to it as the 25th anniversary - typo I suspect.

It is the 125th anniversary LE - Breitling issued it last year to commemorate the company's 125th anniversary - 1884 - 2009.
