Yup, at the end of the day, it's YOUR FEELING wearing the genuine item that is most important.

99% of the people out there won't be able to tell if ur wearing a fake or real bracelet/strap. But YOU would know, & imho that cuts into the joy of the Ling ownership too much.

Different for high quality aftermarket straps (that's not "designed" to look like a Breitling oem strap) of course. For instance, Breitling does not make Horn Back croco or... frog...

I am more than happy to consider high end aftermarket straps

Exactly.

I'm not a fan of straps, but I have no problems with an aftermarket strap on a watch. A bracelet, yes. Especially if your being cheap and don't want to buy the OEM. You spend $,$$$ on the watch, and then cheapen it with a 29.99 bracelet. Now if the OEM isn't available anymore, than its a different story.

Companies like Stone Creek or Inspire workshop for instance, I would not consider to be "fake".

What Tim S said. I would never have an after-market/fake bracelet but I do have several different high end leather straps. None of which are intended to pretend to be Breitling.
A good quality strap can and does look fantastic, providing you chose carefully. IMHO.

I was conned by the "gentleman" selling fake croco straps on ebay, once I found out i burned it! :guns:

Did you report it/him to ebay?

Sorry to go off on bit of a tangent, but do you have any more details of the seller? There have been some Croco straps on UK eBay at less than half price [/quote]

The seller was 9905_bird out of canada. A greek person. I reportet this to ebay, with a detailed description of the counterfeit, along with links to his previous history of selling fakes (thanks breitlingsource)
The seller claimed to be AD for Breitling and all sorts of noncence, but as soon as I escalated the case ebay promptly gave me a 100% refund
I am very pleased that they took this seriously.

Very glad to here that. I had wondered what ebay would do in a case where someone had received a fake. Glad you got your money back.

Now back on topic guys.
