hey guys i was looking at some "how to spot a fake breitling video's" and i came across your website. Anyways I have a problem. I did work for a jeweler who is a friend of friend he owes me about 3k. Long story short of course he wants to sell me a watch. He is claiming he could give me a diamond bezel evolution used for $800 more. Unfortunately he is real shady, so I wouldn't put it past him to give me a fake.

Now after he showed me this evolution I really want a watch and i started looking on ebay. The watch i found is
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-BREITLING-WINDRIDER-COCKPIT-SS-BRAND-WATCH-IN-BOX_W0QQitemZ320471190063QQcmdZViewItemQQptZWristwatches?hash=item4a9d924a2f

or

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160392021909&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

but the question i have is if their is a big difference between the evolution and the cockpit and the colt in size.

also what should i be paying for these watches new/used condition

thanks
Mike

Welcome to the site Mike.
Here's a couple of links to both the Evo and the Cockpit so you can compare and contrast the size differences as well as other aspects of the respective watches. http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch_de ... r_118.html
and http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch_de ... der_3.html.

Ebay is probably your best bet to determine prices. Check the completed sales listings under advanced search on the ebay site and see what recent transactions went for.

Hope this helps and if you have any questions ask away. :)

In short, the evo has a larger diameter and is also thicker than the Cockpit.

I'd suggest trying them on at an AD as well. A watch's size and a watch's presence on the wrist are two diffent things. A few mm on a spec sheet might not seem like a big deal but in real life there can be huge differences.

Dude. If the guy is that shady, get the cash and buy the watch yourself.

Having both watches I'll give you my two bobs worth . My Cockpit is the black dial and my Chronomat is silver with batons . I have a 7 1/2 inch wrist and I find the Cockpit (41mm) so light and comfortable I forget I'm wearing it . The Chronomat (43.7mm) has serious presence and you always know you are wearing it .
For a more formal occasion I prefer the Cockpit for its understated elegance and if the occasion is a BBQ or drinks at the pub I like the Chronomat .
If I could only have one it would be the Cockpit , but it really is wonderful to have both .
