I posted a few days ago, but I figured I'd start a new thread with the new information I've been given. For those who might not have read my first post, my new SA is running about 10 sec. fast a day. Over the course of a week, it gained 1 min, 8 sec. Since I reset it yesterday, it gained 11 sec. I called my local AD (who only picked up the line in June), and he suggested that I might have inadvertently magnetized the watch by leaving it too close to my cell phone or speakers. At night, I leave it on the dresser, not more than a foot from my cell phone and the Bose Wave radio. Could this have magnetized my watch? Also, my AD said they can't regulate or de-magnetize the watch there; that I would have to have it shipped back to Breitling to have them perform the necessary repairs, whatever they may be.
Lastly, he also said if I run a compass along the outer circumference, it would continually indicate North towards the watch in all locations. Is this true or not??
If this is indeed a case of magnetization, then how extreme must one be to prevent magnetization? Do you guys talk on your cell phone in the same hand that you wear your watch? Take your watch off when using the laptop? What's the minimum distance to keep between your watch and your phone at night, for example?
I did try to search the forums for "magnetize, magnetization" first, and it returned zero results.
Thanks! Jeremy
