Looks nice. Any idea what they go for?

Retail is $11,850. My AD told me she can give me my usual discount on one...so figure about $8000-8500 after discount. Its a beast of a watch, and one ive had my eye on for a long time now.

Have you considered IWC? The Portuguese is within your range (although might be a little small) and a second hand BP or BI will be pretty close.

:yeahthat
I'm certain you could get a BP within that range.

Tim, for 2010, I am looking at at the possibility of a Zenith Open Chronomaster, a Panerai 112 or 111, and / or a Green Milgauss Rolex. But that wish list is likely to change monthly, pending what watch goes on sale here that I cant live without.

My biggest question with both Panerai and IWC is whether I can do straps or not. I'm not a big fan of straps usually. I know some Panerais come on a bracelet, but it seems like a whole point of Panerais are the straps.

Fair enough. If you prefer bracelets, I'd be looking at the JLC Master Compressor Diving (like RJ suggested) or Zenith Defy ranges.

Look at the 328, it's the new 3 day power reserve in house model and comes on a bracelet. It has the 1950s casing and looks great on the bracelet.

imo u gotta go strap if u go panerai...otherwise it's not a pam. 233 is a good luminor for under 10k. the iwc bp is the cliche'd pick, because it's freakin nice. if you like bracelet how about a big inge(same port/bp movement, with the sweet display back)? that also costs less than the other 2. i also like jlc but some of the models are too busy/thick for me.

Thanks for all the input guys. Starting to lean towards:

1) Rolex Deep Sea
2) Panerai 312

I'm feeling like the Bentleys are too much like my Navi World.

What do you DeepSea owners have to say?

Before you go with these you should check out the Sales forum here - there is a really sweet Blackberry for sale there!

Good choice, but if you still want a bracelet, the 328 is still the same model just on a bracelet. I tried on the Deepsea a few weeks ago, that thing was huge. It made my 112 feel small.

I have a 312 in-bound. I agree with the poster who said that Panerai's are all about the straps. I'll give it a shot.
