I bought this beauty on the TZ forum, on a nice Burgndy Croc/Deployant back in Dec. It was shipped back in mid Dec, by registered mail, and cleared customs in Canada on the 24th of Dec... then nothing. No update to tracking, no package, nothing. I tried to stay calm, but as each day passed without any update, I began stressing. I thought after 5 years of shipping success, the shipping gods finally pooped on me. And worse yet, the watch was only insured for $250  Secondly, I had purchased a used pilot bracelet for it. So I began to prepare myself for the inevitable loss, rationalizing, drinking brandy to numb the pain.

So today I check the tracking again, as I do every morning. "Dec 24th, Package has cleared customs and is with Canada Post for processing". I leave to drop the dog off at the groomer, which happens to be next door to the post office. On a whim, I pop into the post office where they know me by name. I explain my pain, and the lady types it into the computer... shaking her head... no... nothing... sorry Mark. Then she says wait, maybe the deliverly lady aleady has it for delivery today... Cathy! Do you have anything for Mark??... and I hear from the back... "yes, I have a parcel for him". I didn't dare get my hopes up, I just assumed it was the bracelet, not the watch. Up walks Cathy with a nice little box, AND another smaller box. Two boxes!! Could it be?? Yes it was... it had arrived without any scans or updates on the tracking... escaping all the scans so important for registered mail. It felt like a second Christmas.

So without further adoo... here is the watch that dodged a shipping bullet. I'm quite pleased with my first TT 'ling. Used, but well loved, better condition than expected. I know it should have a TT bracelet, but I actually like how the SS pilot looks on this watch. Let's all bow our heads and say Thanks to the shipping gods.

p.s. still looking for a link for this bracelet if you have one to spare.

Mark,

As a matter of fact, according to the Orthodox Julian calendar, Jan 07 is indeed XMAS :D
Thought I would mention it :D

Great story and ending :lingsrock:
