What are you talking about? I surely did not try to justify the price of the OEM bezel. I simply related the list price from Breitling over a two year period. I also said Breitling was quite proud of their diamond bezels as implied by the very high price they have set. Actually, there is no way in the world I could or would justify the value (you actually meant the price paid, I know) of the OEM bezel. Mine was a gift from my wife whether I wanted it or not. I normally don't like diamonds on a gentleman's watch at all but after receiving this one I came around to admiring its beauty and elegance and moreover, the amazing quality of the joallerie. I don't really care much for "bling" anyway but if I am going to wear it, the piece will darn sure be first class no matter if it cost eighty dollars or eight thousand dollars. I'm sorry, I have not seen one aftermarket diamond bezel I could qualify to be fitted to one of my Breitlings, period. My wife's Breitlings, my daughter's Breitling and my sister's Breitlings all have MOP diamond dials and full OEM diamond bezels and I know the quality of those pieces matches that of my Evo. If any aftermarket diamond bezel fitted to those smaller ladie's watches came within a country mile of matching the OEM originals, I would be shocked. It just ain't gonna happen, ever... Each to his own of course and this is just my .02 worth... :)
Best,
Ron

my point is this:

The amount of effort, quality control etc... that is put into making a breitling watch is surely more then that of a machine pressed bezel, with diamonds later set into it. that said, there is something wrong when the price of the bezel is substaintially higher then that of the watch.

i thought breitling prouds themselfs of thier time pieces, modified movements, cases, design etc... based on the value breitling puts on the watches, are we then to assume Breitling puts more value, and craftsmanship on the bezel more so than the watch???

think about it, what goes into making a breitling watch vs what it takes to make the bezel, and yet an SA at MSRP $5110 vs. with diamonds at 13K. all i will say is Breitling is certainly good at marketing :) as there are people buying them...

everyone has their own opionions.. i certianly do!

IM not tryign to justify the 7-8 k for a new one, but the used market for a factory bezeled SA is 5-6k, 2500 to 3k more than a non diamond model, and THAT is worth it for what you get. to me it was anyway. i bought mine from a friend who bought it new. i wouldn tpay the 13k for a new one, i would buy 2 other watches first.

Now $2500 above a non diamond bezel Breitling is reasonable.. this is what breitling should be charging IMO

I have made a few transactions with Liori Diamonds and they have all been great. I just had my SA done last week and it came out amazing like always. To the guy who's diamonds are turning colors, are you sure you dealt with Liori Diamonds Of New York???

Yes I am sure. Mine looked great too for about a month or so then I had problems like I said in my early post, and my point is they do not honor there warranty you are all on your own, and the reason I am having these problems is because of there craftsmanship, so yes we are talking about the same people, and good luck with your bezel....

Around 3 months ago I was wearing my 6.75 and a small stone popped out. I was out of town on business and they had the watch transported, repaired, and back on my wrist within 3 days. I have to say they honored their warranty with me.

I'm sure they have honored there warranty in the past, like I said in my earler posts, For me my bezel is smoked and they are telling me I'm all set, and they will not fix it without a charge but the fact is there is no fixing it... They drilled it out to much, and that is why they had to glued the diamonds in those three spots, You would think they would just be up front about what there diamond settter did, I'm sure it was a mistake. So if you want to risk that with your watch bezel, when there are other people out there to do it ..Then go ahead good luck..

I understand what your saying loud and clear but I don't think you understand what I am saying. I am on watch #6 built by them. They are great people. I think there must have been some type of misunderstanding with you and them. I have referred numerous family members as well as friends to them, never a problem. My sister just got engaged and they set her up beautifully. All I am trying to say is that I understand what you went through but I have never had a problem nor do I foresee having one in the future with them.

Well you probably know Al then right? Well Al and I had a set price for a 2.4ct wt set, and after he got my watch and bezel in the overnight mail he made a remark to me on the phone that the 2.00ct wt will look great when it's done , so I had to stop him and go back and get the emails that he quoted me, and sure thing he quoted a 2.4ct wt, so that part ended with he telling me sorry there is no way a 2.4ct wt would even fit my bezel after seeing it (cockpit aicer), I then told him to just set the 2.00ct wt that would be fine, and I never asked him to drop the price, after all.. my thought was he'll do a better job or get it back to me faster...not the case...I had to sent my watch back to him two times for the same thing and in the same spot and at that time I did not know they had to glue three of the diamonds in, and Al and I had that talk about maybe glue in there and he said "no way is it glue" he stated to me after the first time he got my watch back "my setter must of got lazy" and said he put three new diamonds in ...here is my point I don't trust them they lied to me on more than one occasion and the work that was done on my watch bezel is bad, so bad in the three spots it can not be fixed without glue and that will not work because that is why the diamonds look as if they were turning a rust yellow color.... SO if you want to roll the dice with your 5+ thousand dollar watch then good luck to you. I will never do busness with them nor anyone that I know, if they would have just be honest about my bezel and fix what they mess up then you would have been reading about how they take care of there custmers..but that is not the case.....And as for you Dmyglass if you live in NYC and can walk into his shop on 62 west 47th st and things are probably different, for me and a lot of other readers of this post we would have to do business by mail...my case in point all they have to do is say bye and hang up the phone...so if you are reading this post and thinking about doing business with liori Diamonds Do Not Do It, they told me the same thing they will tell you I.E. "just sent it back and we'll switch it out for a new one" heard that one too, "we use factory Breitling bezels" yep they don't call a Breitling dealer and try to buy one...you can't unless you send your watch in...on and on and on.....123Breitling

I happen to know Al and yes I am from NY. What is your name and where are you from? I would like to take a moment of my time to speak with Al and Avi next week when I go in there. I don't like what I am hearing and would like to get involved. Whether your right or wrong I would like to intervene if you don't mind. I have spent several thousand dollars with them and have been treated right. I have referred people from out of town and they have been treated correctly as well. I will shop with Liori for all of my future needs and would like to help you if you want the help.

Josh,

My saying when it comes to diamonds and fine time pieces is "the more the merrier!" You can never have to many.

I got mine from Olympus Jewels in NYC. High quality VS2 stones set in a original Breitling bezel. I believe another poster earlier in the thread also did (although he couldn't remember the name). Very happy with it 8)
