Any advice would be greatly appreciated, these are my options. My budge is about $6500 and there are a lot of great breitlings in this range..

1. Blackbird (all polished) "on crocodile strap with deployment" $6260
or
2. B01 Black eye Grey dial on diver pro $6500

I like the blackbird because it is unique and I like the high polished finish, but I like the fact that the B01 has the new in house movement. Is it a wiser decision to go with a B01 since it has the special movement and could possibly have a higher resale value due to the fact that it is the first time breitling has done this? I would be happy with either so as mentioned above any input would be greatly appreciated

Thanks!!!!

The B01 has the exact same high polished finish. For me, it would be the B01 without question.

This is the same problem that Im having right now! B01 or the Blackbird! Tough decision either way. I think I'm leaning towards the Blackbird more right now...I like the smaller bezel, the font on the Blackbird bezel is also more to my liking...movement is good too, Breitlings first Auto-Chrono back in 69 might as well be a kissing cousing to the Caliber 44. Still 100% Swiss Made, still a chronometer. Though, I don't know if the Blackbird has a column wheel, vertical coupling, and/or a free sprung balance. But I don't know if I really do care about any of those things...

The Blackbird has a really legible dial, not too crazy, pure black, great luminova. I like how the chapter ring/Tachymeter ring? is black too. Makes the watch look cleaner, bigger. Definitely have the case high polished, with a black croc. strap. Sweet.

If the B01 had more of a pure black dial, i think it would be more in contention...at least with me. The in-house aspect is cool, but not a deal-maker.

Basically, its a win-win for you. Best of luck!

Probably similar, although you could always sell the B01 to somebody who's AD has fed them the BS line that they dont discount it since its such a hot new model. It might also be collectible in the future...and by "future" im talking decades.

well, since I am spending a lot on either watch and intend on keeping it for a long time maybe the b01 is the best bet then. Also thanks for letting me know they can discount the B01 becuase I was told that it is on backorder and that breitling could only produce a certain amount for this year and that the best they could do is cover the sales tax. I will see if I can push for alittle more because this may make or break the decision because they are willing to discount the blackbird.

Both of those are true, partly because of the large number of dial options that makes it difficult to keep stock of all the possibilities and partly because of the fact that it's year one production (although I believe that delays are not with the movement).

That said, discounts are based simply on supply and demand and the demand isn't there to justify paying close to retail.

Alan M......your watch looks great on that strap!!!! The more I think about it the more I think im going to go with the blackbird lol. The extended power reserve means nothing to me if im going to be wearing it all the time, I do like the look of it a bit better, and the fact that it looks good on leather also pretty much seals the deal for me because it really is sport and dress. Considering the fact that I can get a bit of a discount on a B01 thanks to you guys...makes the decision even harder...i think im just gonna close my eyes and grab one hahah ill let you know how it works out.
