This is true. Pimptastik Factor is significantly lessened when the watch is covered. I usually remove my watch when at home since one of the first things I do when I come home is cook... I dont like wearing my watch when I cook.

a real pimp shouldn't have to flash his timepiece around just for status. if it slides from under the sleeve, then it does. but don't wear short sleeves on purpose just to show off that you have a better watch. the people who really care will know. the edges of that scratch will smooth itself out in time. it may still be visible, but it will grow onto you if you don't touch it. actually you won't even think about it after a couple of weeks.

my beater is a bulova and all it's scratches have somewhat almost disappeared.

hey, if you really wanna cover that up the pimp way, just slap a couple diamonds over it.

First off, a real pimp would never wear a Bullova. C'mon man!

(Just kidding)

Second, there is nothing wrong with displaying your timepieces for others to see. In my opinion, they are a true work of art!

Those that recognize a fine time piece will notice as you said, but you can't knock a guy that likes to display his timepiece.

Apparently you can appreciate this, especially if you enjoy a timepiece enough to join the forum!

Welcome aboard, and keep your pimp hand strong!

:D

Wow, it looks like a side of a car that someone keyed. Like other's have stated, that's the risk you take while wearing a huge watch. It's basically a dent magnet.

You can always send it back to Breitling. The case is just 1 part of the watch, if it can't be fixed I suppose they could replace it. Seems like they can replace every other part.

Sorry guys I've been away from the computer today. This thread has blown up a little. I am going to try the Cape Cod as soon as I get a bit of time. Going to go rip out some more walls in the new house tomorrow so I will let you all know about the cod treatment as soon as I get it done.

As for being a true pimp....HA Not ME!

Admin do you mean a Rolex as a beater?

Thomas. I called my AD and they said they could polish it for a price but don't recommend doing it too often as it does remove some material. They also said if they had to they could add material and then polish back to like new. I think I will just give it the cod treatment and live with it until service time.

As for a good story. I think I remember hitting it on the door catch when walking into the bathroom....so no cool story.

Oh I forgot. The reason I take it off to shower is I don't want soap build up that I have had on some previous watches.

Chance, the first scratch always sucks, but like it was stated before, it means you are wearing it and if you are wearing it, you enjoy it. Im sure the great minds that developed the SA intended for it to be worn. Most of my watches have scratches in them, I do get ticked off at the first one, but after that unless its a something major I kinda just roll with the punches. To me a watch is like a loyal dog, he goes with you everywhere and is your companion on many occasions. When I look at my watches I can remember certains I did while wearing them. They bring my joy not only in their design, and aesthetics, but also the nostalgia I get when I think of the places we have traveled and the things we have done together. So dont sweat it too much, and keep it on your wrist. Its still a very nice watch.
