The best lume on a watch that I have ever had is on a Citizen diver. It was extraordinary. I have had Rolex sub which is avg, Omega also avg, Zenith avg, and many others. All pretty much avg. My Breitling Nav is avg to poor. Now I own a Breitling Skyracer and I have to say it is excellent. Not as good as that old Citizen I used to own but still excellent.

Lum-Tec has the best lume hands-down, but then again, that is what they are known for :)

I would have say after that, most likely the sandwich dial PAMs are second.

Is there a sensible way of upgrading the lume on a watch if you're not happy with it?

I had a Fortis that had poor lume, so I sent it to Kent Parks for relume. It cost a little under $200 and came back like a torch!! I had the entire second sweep lumed as well as the Fortis logo. Kent did an incredible job, as crisp as any factory applied lume.

Seiko Monster has sick Lume. Lumibrite is the best lume material on the market.
My Citizen Diver that is 7 years old has great lume.
My Breitling B1 has excellent lume also!
My friends Panerai 111 glows like a torch.

My Uncle has a Submariner that has terrible lume. Go figure.

Bell and Ross great lume, Doxa too.
JLC awesome.

Now there are certain models from Reactor that have as good lume as Seiko.
and they are inexpensive watches.

Zodiacs have great lume considering the prices are like $75-$100

My 36mm Omega Seamaster Pro and 36mm Railmaster have so far the best lume of any watches I have owned:

I don't have a Breitling at the moment (should put that on my 2010 wishlist as well), but like many on this forum say, they are not that great for lume.

Cheers,
Carl
