Hi Folks,
I have been kind of straying away from Breitling for awhile now, not that I lost my taste for them, but just found brands that are more suitable. One reason, is that I am more into the smaller size watches, and have found that other companies like Omega, Rolex and Oris have a selection of watch around 36mm.
Been lusting after this Oris for a while now. The Big Crown Pointer Date. It strikes me as one of the finest examples of a "new" classic and vintage model. This is the older style, with the plexiglass domed crystal, and the exellent shaped hands. I really like the pointer date. I think taking that date window off the dial gives it a much more balanced and cleaner look.
Was also lucky enough to find a slightly used one from a seller with very good references. Not only my first Oris, but my first private deal buying on the internet.
Here is a shot of the exact watch, provided by the seller. It is 36mm:

Will post some more pics when I receive the watch. Also has a great exhibition back with the signature red rotor.
I have been quite impressed by the build quality, size and model selection, and value for money of Oris watches.

Cheers,
Carl

ps I still have a fondness for Breitling. They are what started my obsession with watches. I still wish I had never sold my 1997 Colt Super Ocean, though.

Very nice Carl.

Oris definitely offer tremendous value for money. I love the guilloche on that dial.

I'm not a real big fan of other watch brands Carl but that I can honestly say that one strikes my fancy. I really like the style but the size at 36mm scares me a little. Looking forward to some more pics when you get it and congratulations.

Congrats on your new Oris. I bought my wife the 28mm version with gold bezel. I have a TT3 Day/Date myself.
