I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum for such a request, but I'm considering buying a 2004 Super Avenger. I've posted several pictures of in another thread to help determine its' authenticity. Since then, the current owner updated me with pics of the serial #'s on the watch and the book, so I'm more confident in its' authenticity.
I'll X-link my original post with pics and add'l info here:
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14818&p=113272#p113272

As a newbie to the world of Breitling and high-end watches, I just don't want to pay too much out of ignorance or being uninformed and uneducated.

Thank you,

Jeremy

2500-2700 with pro ii bracelet. Batons vs roman over 2700. Just my opinion.

Pretty sure the RRP is £3200ish.

What would you pay for a pre-loved still in production Roller 5 years old percentage wise, 80%???? really??

Bigger question maybe.....

It is the first gen with the Professional I bracelet (I'm partial to the II myself).
The 2400 is more in line with the sellers' asking price, but considering that the watch has never been serviced in almost 6 years, I'm going to see if he'll take a few hundred less.
I'd also like to upgrade to the Pro II bracelet, and I've even considered having the dial changed to blue. I've heard Breitling does it for $150?

Thanks all for your input.

Not likely.

Breitling always used to insist on a full service (no big deal if the watch needs it anyway), plus the cost of the dial, plus the work - people have been quoted $1,200 - $1,500 for the whole thing.

There have been some more reasonable costs quoted for dial changes recently, but only on discontinued models, and still not as low as $150.

I found that info on this FAQ page from TimeZone.
http://people.timezone.com/breitling/bfaq/
They actually said $195. Perhaps this info is outdated; perhaps it's just flat-out wrong! I was surprised at how low it sounded....

Just wait for a more suitable watch. It will be cheaper to find a newer blue one with a proII than to upgrade it yourself.

I've thought about that. I'm not dead-set on the blue or the bracelet, though. I do like the black, and I still like the Pro I, just not as much as the Pro II.
I haven't sealed a deal yet, so I may end up continuing the search...

That was March 2007, but I also suspect that it doesn't include the cost of the dial and it definitely doesn't include the mandatory full service.

Use the search function on here - it has been discussed many times.
