Hallo everyone.

I have just got my first Breitling, the SA and i was wondering if you have to change the date manually on the end of months that have only 30 days?

On my Pro2 bracelet the reference number is 135A, i couldnt find this exact number in the reference chart on the main site, anyone?

You will have to chage the date manually, although there is a quick set mechanism which allows you to change it by pulling the crown out to the first setting. But read the manual as between certain times (i'll let someone else say exactly as i do mine at 10am which is ok) you can damage the mech.

Thanks, i have read this now. I changed the date the first day without knowing this :wowzers but i think everything is ok cause it works normally. Do you notice this when you are doing it or does it just get broken without you noticing it?

I am not sure if the dealer is an AD, but i got all the right papers and warranty book, does this mean i have the 2 year factory warranty? (The book has its own serial number and the dealer has written in the field "country and retailer´s name" in the same "holes" as the serial number on top of the page so it looks professional)

When you wind the crown manually do you wind it backwards (clicking noises) or do you wind i forwards (more friction and harder to turn) ?

when you set the time is it like you always should set the time forwards, never backwards ?

Youll probably be able to tell if you break it. There will be some obvious resistance that youll have to force past.

Your warranty book should be stamped and signed by the dealer on the page opposite the serial number and hole punched page.

Forbrukerkjøpsloven gjelder uansett om garantikortet er stemplet eller ikke :D

If an AD don't sign the warranty, that's got to be their problem, not the buyer? Is it legal to refuse warranty if the Breitling is bought from a non-AD?

Winding the watch is clockwise / forwards

You can wind time forwards or backwards, but NOT backwards in the 8pm to 3am window

If the warranty book isn't stamped and signed then it shouldn't be a problem - they often forget.

ok but if you have the original warranty booklet with serial number and date of purchase, then i have the factory warranty?

Maybe i have turned on the date wheel and turned the clock backwards when i didnt know, hope i havent destroyed anything. Can i tell if i have done any damage only if the date stops moving automatically or can i have made any other/more damage?

Thanks for answers

If the warranty book is not stamped and signed, it doesnt necessarily mean that you dont have a factory warranty. You can try contacting the dealer or Breitling directly to find out. They dealer is supposed to stamp and sign it, but like Roff said, some can forget.

If the watch works fine and the date changes correctly, you probably havent damaged anything.

Anyone know about the serial number on the pro2 link described in the first post ?
And how does exactly the "quick change date function" work ?

135A is the reference number to the end link that it is stamped on. That end link fits only the super avenger. Each model has an individual, differently shaped end link to connect the bracelet to the case.

The quick set date is the feature that allows you to pull the crown out and cycle through the date without changing the time. Some models, like the current Navitimer, do not have that feature and require you to change the date by winding the time 24 hours ahead to move forward on day.

To be strictly accurate on non quick set date watches they generally have the ability to roll back and forth around midnight to advance the date - forward to about 2am, back to about 10pm and then the date changes when you next go past midnight.

Yep, thats how I do it on my navi.. I just figured that adding that part would only confuse my point.

So what i do at the first of the month if the watch says 31 i just pull out the crown and the date will change automatically ?

Where can i find the reference number on the Pro2 bracelet if the 135A is only for the end link ?

135A is the reference for the bracelet, but only the end link is different from any other Pro II of the same width.

To change the date you pull the crown out to the first position and turn it to change the date. DO NOT do it when the indicated time is between 8pm and 3am.
