I'm not sure that's the same issue. A watch that is out of beat may need some help starting, but it shouldn't stop again. If a watch is approaching it's service window then it is possible that it will stop when there is still energy in the mainspring, but it shouldn't happen on a new watch.

I would take the watch to the AD to check.

Thanks for the reply. This morning the watch was working fine I then undid the crown to change the date and then the watch restarted for a few seconds and stopped again. Guess there is a problem with the crown because if you fiddle with the crown sometimes the watch starts and other times it doesnt. Guess this one goes back to the AD for an exchange, only problem is that the AD does not have another Colt II so an alternative would be to send it to the Breitling service center which is near were I live, for them to repair.

Hi Im new to the forum and just bought my first Breitling SuperOcean Steelfish ..
Just a beautiful watch!!!!
due to my hard knock working enviroment I only were it during those times I dont work !!
which of course varies from time to time..
anyways last night I didn't were my watch for 16 hours and noticed when I was going to put it on today arvo it had stopped but as soon as I grabbed it it started to run again...no shake no nothing...sweet !!!
but my issue is I only have owned it for under 2weeks and isn't it supposed to have 40 hr reserve?
or should I wind it up more often due to not using it every day?
cheersss!!!

It will have a 42 hour power reserve from a full wind, but it depends whether you are wearing it enough to maintain a full wind. If the watch is only worn for a few hours after being off for quite some time then it's entirely possible that it's not getting a full wind and over time the mainspring is running down - it doesn't sound any more than that.

You can't overwind an automatic so to be safe you can manually wind it every now and then to make sure that it is fully wound.

Oh, and welcome to BreitlingSource.

Thanks mate .. I wind it up every 3rd day due to not wearing it full time..
and being so in love with it..I just need to wear it after coming from work...and its annoying to see it STOPPED..
Cheers for the advice...
