Is there any real difference between a 1461 Jours and the current Olympus? Both seem to use the same movement and generally tell the same information, no?

Visual differences, but you are correct, both use the same semi-perpetual moonphase movement.

Any idea what a normal service at BUSA or equivalent might run for this type of B-ling

From memory I think around $600.

....................and fantastic watches they are too! Here's my 2002 Olympus (and in my opinion the best version).

Beautiful watch and one of the objects of desire in my book; why (besides the fact that you have the pleasure of owning this model) do you think this is the best of its kind?

I just think that the size and the dial design/colour is the most elegant of them all. The latest Olympus design makes the watch look very small indeed even though it's the same 42.1mm as mine.

And if I'm not wrong the 1461 Jours is slightly smaller than that at 41.5mm.

I think that the general consensus is that the Montbrillant Olympus is a bit of a downgrade from the previous Navitimer Olympus - that's a gorgeous watch, and I think the white dial works very well.

I agree, I think the Navitimer Olympus is a beautiful watch.

Why the change from Navitimer to Montbrillant? As discussed previously there really is very little difference between them.

I don't know why they decided to make the change, just part of the updating of the range I guess.

And they got rid of the Wings. The script is nice, but the wings are absolutely mandatory.
