Picked up my first Breitling, and my first "propper" watch, from the local AD a couple of hours ago. Been wanting this one for 2-3 years now, finally gave in and ordered one last Friday after a visit to the AD. Excellent delivery time!

Std. Navitimer, black dials, batons, brown leather straps. Beautiful watch!

Started looking through all the papers, instructions etc. at home, when I noticed something about the warranty card. The one in the yellow booklet. The salesperson/watchmaker filled in the wrong year of purchase! He wrote the correct date, but year 2008!

He got of work before I noticed it, so I haven't tried to reach him yet.

I guess this is something that needs to be sorted out? What kind of solutions can be accepted, and which can't?

Thanks

Thomas

They'll have to modify it as the warranty booklet is unique to the watch, but I would also ask for some kind of letter on their letterhead confirming the change. It's likely only to be a problem if you need to take the watch somewhere else, but better safe than sorry.

And of course - congratulations on joining the Breitling family.

Thanks!

Spoke to the AD today, the solution is modifying the year in the booklet. Didn't mention an additional statement from the AD, but I expect them to write me one without any debate when I visit them.

PS. Still loving the Navi more for every time I look at it :D

Congratulations, the Navi is an awesome watch and definitely my favourite of all the Breiltings.

Glad everything is sorted now, peace of mind is definitely crucial with such an investment.

And welcome aboard!

Thanks!

Synced it with the atomic clock from US gov., gained 6-7 seconds on 24 hours. I suppose that is acceptable after only a couple of days running.

Great looking watch!

6 - 7 seconds a day this early on in its life is OK, it should settle down in 2 or 3 weeks.

Thanks Roff!

Wanted it with a brown strap when I first fell in love with Navi 2-3 years ago, but moved on to bracelets because of the advantages at everyday use. But the difference in price changed my mind when ordering  Can honestly say that I didn't regret the decision for a second when opening the box with the Navi in for the first time. They are beautiful on straps!

Just witnessed date change, started rolling over at aprox. 55, and finished 59. Everything seems to be working fine so far. :lingsrock:

Nice combination. I have the same exact model with the same strap. It also looks great with a black croc strap . I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

One can never see too many pics of this awesome watche! It's a classic, and I think it looks best on a brown leather strap. Great choice! That will look and perform great for many, many years.
Cheers,
Carl

Thanks guys!

Congrats mrfaize! Looks awsome on the black strap, will probably try one when the brown one wears out. Posted pics of yours online?

Stopped by my AD today, got the warranty issue sorted out. The manager or "senior watchmaker" corrected the year, wrote an explanation on the left side in the booklet, signed and stamped it. Satisfying for me.

:D

It's gaining 8-9 seconds om 24 hours now. Tried laying it crown up tonight, didn't make a difference. Time to get it regulated, or should I still wait a couple of weeks, until it's broken in? Doubt it will start gaining less all of a suden.

Time it after you have been wearing it consistently for about 4 weeks. If it is still outside of specs then get it adjusted.
