I just have to vent on this.....

Today I have flown a long way North! I am still below the arctic circle, but in Iqaluit the capital of Nunavut on Canada - it's a long way up here!!

To get here I had to fly from Toronto to Ottawa and then Ottawa to Iqaluit. There are two airlines that fly up here and they both leave Ottawa fairly early in the morning (only one plane per day). The later one leaves at 9:40, but because it is Sunday I can't get to Ottawa until 9:10 - cutting it a bit fine. I also am up here for almost two weeks, so needed to check bags - another risk.

Well of course we ran into fog at Ottawa and I only had about 5 minutes between arriving at the gate and the other flight leaving. I made it, but of course my bag didn't - despite the fact that the flight was delayed because of the fog. That happens, but it's not much comfort when you are stuck here in this weather (it's cold).

Best of all - no one seems to know where my bag is. I'm thinking that I'll get my bag tomorrow, but as of right now no one seems to have any idea where it is!

Oh, and I can't go to buy more clothes - 1) it's Sunday so everywhere is closed and 2) it's Iqaluit - most things have to be flown in specially.

True enough, it's just been a crappy day - the hotel room wasn't ready and they kinda forgot to tell me that they are doing major construction in the hotel. It's not even the same hotel that I am working at - that doesn't have any rooms until Wednesday!

I got a message that my bag has been found and will be on the plane tomorrow so hopefully life will get easier. It's still a heck of a place to be spending 2 weeks!

As much as I dislike the airlines, I'm not sure it is fair to blame them for problems caused by weather.

I take it you haven't been using French airlines much, then you get this every time. Or, it's just me being unlucky... Good to hear they found your bag though!

Didn't expect my bag to make the flight after the fog delay.

However, I'm not prepared to blame fog for the airlines not knowing where my bag was.

I'm travelling Katherine via Sydney in the morning.
