Ok, so I've had my grey dialed Hercules for a while, and love it. It's one of those pieces I would never consider selling off.
Every once in a while, I come across a black dialed Herc for sale and revisit the " do I like the black better than the grey" decision that I was dealing with when I first bought mine.
I had a buddy of mine ask me recently if I would consider selling him my grey Herc, and knowing that it is my favorite piece, I politely declined.

So...I decided to buy the black dialed one that Ron was selling here to finally put my wondering to rest... Figured if I did decide the black was a better fit for me, I already had a buyer for the grey one. I always restrained from doing this as not to have two of the same exact watch even if it did have a different dial color...

The dillemma as you might have guessed it.... I really like them both!!!
I've always loved the Herc... So unique and solid and the grey dialed one is very subdued and is a great piece for everyday wear, but the black dial has just enough extra contrast with the subdials to pop and the red on the inner bezel pops a little more color contrast.
Both are great looking pieces in their own right.

Would it be silly to keep both of them?
Thoughts on having two of the same watch with slightly different dial colors?

If you like them both as part of your collection, and see them as a different look then who cares if they are the same model?

I say, keep them if you love them both. I have two Steelfish (one black and one silver) and have thought about getting the blue one also! Do what makes you happy.

Many people think I'm nuts for having 6 (different) Breitlings.... I politely tell them that its none of their business

I dont think I would have 2 identical models (except for a different dial colour) in my collection.

Bottom line DO WHATS BEST FOR YOU

At one point I had two Navi Worlds (my current silver dial on the bracelet, and a blue dial on blue croco), and two SA's (my current black dial on the bracelet, and a white dial on croco) in my collection at the same time. I didn't have a problem with it at all, but eventually I sold one of each to make way for a little more variety.

My advice - if you can't choose between them at this moment, then don't even try! Just keep them both, and if at some point in the future you decide on a little more variety, then sell one then. There's no rush.

I showed the wife, who really likes my grey dialed herc, so she wanted to see them side by side, and she said "keep them both" !
