Does anyone here know if the crown tube is replaceable on a Breitling Super Ocean Pro A17046 case?
Also, where I can get an original NOS crown? (no - it's NOT going to an AD for a crown!)

I've already replaced a broken mainspring (the reason it ended up with me), and serviced the movement, but after cleaning the case I found that the crown threads are shot, and possibly the internal threads in the tube. A new crown will tell me if the tube is good enough.

It's a nice watch - yellow dial version. However, my friend insists that I don't get to keep it :)

Thanks!

In terms of the crown, officially Breitling won't sell them outside of the service network. That said, my watchmaking supply company here in Canada advertises genuine Breitling crowns, but never has any in stock

Might be worth trying Otto Frei.

In terms of the sleeve, I don't think that it's replaceable on an Aeromarine case, but this is an older one so may not be the same. You should be able to see whether it's a separate piece once you have the crown stem out and they are generally friction fit if not integral to the case.

As far as I know, it's not. :(

At least that's what a guy at an AD told me.

Actually, it happened after I'd submitted my first 'ling to full service, so perhaps he just told that to make sure I'll be extra careful with the crown and the threads?

Anyway, I think only Bretling can fix the thread in the tube.
