Hi Folks,
Well, I am thinking of either selling or trading my Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra caliber 8500, purchased in April this year. It has been very carefully worn, only on weekends and never to work. It looks as it did when it came out of the box. I am also planning to take it to my AD. He has said that he will check it over for me free of charge and make sure there are no scratches or dings. The MSRP of this watch is $5600 Canadian Funds. the same as it was when I purchased it. The question is, what would be a reasonable price to ask for it? Any questions or comments much appreciated. Good question. I find that I really am into the smaller watches now, and I find that this does not get any wrist time. I really wish that I had got the smaller 38.5mm model, but I can't see selling one at a loss to buy the identical one at the original price, so I am going for something entirely different. I was looking at the Perrelet watches, and waiting until the new Turbine arrived. However, that is 44mm. The model I am looking at is 40mm, and actually wears a bit smaller than the Aqua Terra. I tried it on again today. It's called a Double Rotor. There is a rotor on the front, in the middle of the dial, beautifully finished and visible through the crystal, which is syncronized with the rotor on the back of the watch, which has a beautiful exhibition back. The rotor on the back is actually kind of a rotor frame, the centre is hollowed out which allows one to see through it the rest of the movement. The watch is both intriguing and beautifully finished. You can see the silver rotor in the center of the dial. The red circle, in the very center, actually looks and shines like a ruby. I don't know if it is part of the case, or actually behind it. The watch is so intriguing, I have to go and take a better look. I can't even begin to describe how beautiful it looks when you see it in person.
Anyway, that is only one of many reasons to sell the Aqua Terra. As a matter of fact, even if I don't sell the Aqua Terra, I will get this watch at some point. Likely early in the New Year.
