I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing that it might. For example, if you made a warranty claim, they could say it was caused by vibration from being polished, or maybe that polishing compound ruined the gaskets or something.... Just a guess.

I'll be honest, I have actually considered that with my Steelfish from time to time as I really like the polished finish on my Navi and SA, but then again the brushed finish suits a "serious" dive watch like the Steelfish quite well.
