My buddy took some photos of my new SMP on his iPhone this morning. Hopefully, they will give a good idea of the wrist presence of this mid-size Omega. I kind of hurriedly asked my AD a couple of weeks ago, if they would consider an even trade with my 2009 Seawolf, and when the answer was yes I was a bit concerned that I would regret it. After wearing this watch for 2 days, no regrets at all. The Seawolf is a gorgeous watch, but this small SMP is more my style. I am more than satisfied with all aspects of this watch, and even though it does not have one of the latest coaxial movements, I am sure that it will give me years and years of reliable service.
I love how they did the small date window on this black dial, and how it does not intrude on the rest of the dial. It also has the ripple effect on the dial, even though it is not the lastest model, and the sword hands are great. Hope you enjoy these pics:

The other two Omegas I have, have got the exhibition backs, but this SMP pro back with the seahorse is also one of my favourites. It is a part of the many excellent details of this watch which I really appreciate. As I look at the pics, I am more impressed by the wrist presence of this 36mm watch.

Just to throw a bit of flavour into the whole thing: the shirt that I am wearing is an old Eddie Bauer flannel shirt that I purchased at a used clothing store about 10 years ago, for about 5 bucks. To this day, it is one of my favourite shirts. It was already well worn at that time. You wouldn't believe it, but I actually spend quite a bit of money on clothes, watches and rings! One might get the impression that I spend a lot of time looking at used clothes, in order to support my watch habit! Hey, as long as we are comfortable with what we wear who cares.
Thanks for looking.

Cheers,
Carl

Could not agree more.

That watch really suits you Carl, and more importantly you are more comfortable with it than with the Seawolf so it's undoubtedly the right one for you. Great pick up!

Awesome! I dont know why I find that so entertaining, but I do. I have a pair of flannel-ish pajamas in my safe that my mom tried to throw away when I was about 13 years old... Just one of those things..

BTW, the lady in the background surely thinks youre crazy taking pictures of your arm, right?

Must be the irony of the whole thing, that's what I said to my buddy: "Here I am wearing a watch that you're taking pictures of for me, a watch that is worth more than your car, and I am sitting here wearing an old shirt that I bought at a used clothing store!"
Also pretty much everyone at that bar thinks my buddy and I are nuts. It's our local outdoor patio, an excellent Belgian Beer Bar. We have had a pretty darn nice Fall so far here in Vancouver.

Cheers,
Carl

Nice looking timepiece Carl. Good photos too. Maybe James Bond himself will adorn second hand clothes in place of the tux...to fund his liking for watches!! :)

Ive been in the same boat as you too. I have had a Seamaster, Rolex GMT II and 2 previous Superoceans, not to mention countless trinkets from Tiffany and Co, but they had to be replaced, sadly by day to day living expenses. Gutted!

Til my rekindling of watches was again boosted by seeing Daniel Craig giving away this beauty to a UK charity

http://www.watchesplex.com/blog/view/id ... ega-watch/

Still, as well as having them thrown at him by the manufacturer, he can afford one or two of them at the moment.
And he wears designer clothes too. How ther other half live!
