Sometimes the impulsive purchases are the most fun and the longest-lasting. I love the mesh bracelet on that.
I have to admit it's a bit too much watch for my liking - especially since I got a 36mm Railmaster at almost the same time you were getting your watch - but it is definitely a stunner! If that watch doesn't attract a lot of attention, I will be very surprised. It sounds like you are having a tremendous amount of fun with it, and that's the idea. Congratulations!

Thanks everyone. Yes, this is a fun watch, thats really the only way to appreciate it. You can't seriously wear this thing and think it is practical. It is the perfect counterbalance to my Deepsea, and yet it still has alot of history to it, as well as a manufacturer movement (debatable I know) and top quality. I would never try an convince someone to buy this watch, or recommend it, it is just too "out there", but I am extremely pleased with it.

I actually went out shopping for another Rolex, I was looking at the Milgauss GV and the new Datejust II. Both nice watches but didn't get my pulse racing like a watch in that price range should. Then I saw the Ploprof and I got all tingly, it was a feast for the eyes, and a pleasure to handle. I couldn't think of a single reason not to buy it, once I negotiated a killer discount.

I'm trying to refine my watches to signature pieces, that are either unique, or groundbreaking, or have manufacture movements, or something to set them apart.

One thing I know for sure, having a clasp that quick adjusts like the Deepsea and this one has spoiled me. I use the quick adjust at least once a day as my wrist expands or shrinks. Its hard to wear a watch without it now. p.s. the Deepsea clasp wins because you can adjust it without removing the watch from your wrist.

Christopher, how heavy is it you ask?? Its my new leader, heavier than the POC (previous champ) and the Deepsea, at 272g with 3 links removed!

Yes it came on this bracelet and I also got the orange rubber included. This is the thickest, heaviest mesh I've ever seen, and I've owned them all. I think the mesh suits this watch perfectly, and I doubt I'll even bother cutting the rubber strap to fit.

Surprisingly, bending the wrist isn't an issue. I wore it today for yardwork (on a 3 acre wooded property), which involves alot of movement, and it was perfectly comfortable.

My 9 month old daughter just loves it, her eyes light up when I wear it and she can't keep her hands off it. That alone is reason enough to own it.

I tried one of these myself the other week but my AD was unwilling to discount on it at all so I walked away. I've really REALLY got my heart set on one, so I was hoping to be the first to unveil one on here, but you snuck in there!

Many congrats - it's such a superb piece and I'm completely with you in terms of the refining of the collection to signature pieces........ or as I like to call it "modern re-imaginings of classics"!

PS - How are you finding the thickness of the clasp? It's thicker than a lot of watches out there!

Sorry D8, I didn't mean to steal your thunder One day I'll have to find out exactly what a "git" is This is another one of those watches that people really shouldn't judge unless thay have had the opportunity to handle one in person. In pics, it looks great but it is easy to pass judgement on the size and shape, but it reality, on the wrist, the size and shape are part of the magic that make it special.

I don't have any issue with the clasp, it is in perfect proportion to the rest of the watch, which is to say it is "big". I am so used to big watches that nothing really shocks me anymore. If you have ever worn a Sinn U1 on thick rubber with the big deployant, the clasp is very similar in size/thickness. This clasp is in sharp contrast to the diminutive Deepsea clasp, and makes you appreciate even more how Rolex jammed all that adjustment and quality into a compact comfortable clasp.

The nightime view of this watch is mezmerizing. Wait till you see it all lumed up. You'll love it!

Ha ha! Yeah I guess "git" is a bit of a British word! It's slang and means (according to an online slang dictionary) "a rotter" or a "contemptible person", although you know I don't mean it Mark!

I have the rubber strap for my UX as well as the bracelet and it is quite similar to the Ploprof's. (The Proprof's is much better though!)

To be honest when I tried the Ploprof on I thought it wore smaller than it's size suggests. In fact I think it's more wearable than the SA , despite being the same size in one dimension and several mm's larger in the other.

Many congrats again, and I'm looking forward to purchasing one myself.

(Oh and if you fancy giving us a lume shot, please, be my guest! )

This is very true. I owned the SA for a day or two and it just seemed outrageous on me. Yet the proplof doesn't. Maybe its in my head. I think one of the reasons is that the Proplof isn't trying to be a "normal" watch, you instantly recognize that it is a specialty or tool watch, so maybe you forgive the size somewhat. The Ploprof is the Hum-vee of the watch world.
