I'm very close to ordering a new seawolf steel bit yesterday i met with a friend who has an omega speedy pro and I really really liked it and now I'm stuck!

Do I go for the original Idea of the seawolf a design which I love or should I be tempted by this new beauty?

Understandibly some of you may be quite biased towards the breitling but some of you also have the speedy!

Your thoughts guys on what I should go for!

Persoanlly really not keen on the 'bubble' crystal on the Speedmaster's. If you said Seamaster, I could understand the predicament as they are both very nice divers 8)

Looking back my Seamaster was more comfortable than any of my current Breitlings. Not convinced the stainless was the same quality/hardness though :? and I'm 99% sure you couldn't hand wind it

The watches are quite different...it depends on the look and feel you are going for. The Seawolf is a big, thick, hunk of steel on your wrist. It has the look and feel of "durability" (at least to me). If you get in a fight, you can whack somebody over the head with it. It has huge presence.

The speedmaster is thinner and a lot lighter. To me it evokes the images of accuracy, agility, and precision.

Good choice mate. Slate dial is lovely 8)

So where did you get that ordered from? Do you get good deals from a local dealer?

I feel like the speedy is the most overrated watch out there, while the seawolf may be one of the more underrated.

The Speedmaster Pro is one of those watches that rides on its heritage of being the first watch on the Moon and its sponsorship of Michael Schumacher. I had a Schumacher Legend model, that I loved, but sold.. and now may be picking up one of the classic black models in 42mm size, sapphire sandwich. While I really like the watch, it does not have a whole lot of wrist presence and is very understated. The handwind movement is cool, and the visible caseback is nice, but the case is thin and light, and the crown is difficult to wind. Additionally, the 42mm case size is misleading, as when I measured it, it was 42mm with the crown, not without.

i would probably have had the sapphire sandwich model if i had gone for the omega and i probably will when i inevitably purchase it sometime next year, but i was silly to doubt the Breitling, its chunky case felt so good on my wrist at the AD and i love the tool-watch look! cant wait for it to arrive.

bring on my second breitling! :lingsrock: i know its going to get so many admiring glances (how could it not the size of it!)

got to say i was going to save a few quid and get it on the rubber, but after seeing pics on this forum i decided i needed the bracelet besides my SOH is on rubber!

I ended up getting the Sapphire Sandwich. I quite like it. I miss having a date, however.

I can't live without a date. That is why watches were invented, weren't they, so you could tell the date and time without having to look at your cellphone?

That leaves out nearly all of the Speedy Pro renditions, unfortunately for me...although I do like a lot of the Broad Arrows which usually have a date.

I have both a slate dial Seawolf and a Speedy Pro 3570. PM me if you want pictures of a side by side.

I love both, but they are different in almost every different way. The Speedy is an understated, go anywhere watch that. The Seawolf is a fun watch, but difficult to wear everyday, all day. Too chunky.

I know this is long dead, but figured I would share a pic of each watch (both gone now...). I did prefer the Seawolf....
