The difference in prices on the two watches is largely due to the straps. The Croc strap on deployant is $720.00 usd compared to the Diver Pro at $110.00.
Authentic watches sells authentic Breilting watches but they are a gray market dealer and as such you will not get a Breilting warranty.

Really. I thought they had to be sold and stamped by an ad and they couldn't sell online. As for myself I will stick with George from Govberg jewelers. He was fantastic and has great prices. He is even taking care of an issue with my 6.75 for me.

George = :D

Breitling does not authorize online sales period. You'll note that Interwatch's warranty service only covers the movement and the watch must be "served" through them. I have a local dealer (not an AD) who can get me any watch I want - even at a discount - the only deal is that if it needs warranty work, I need to bring it to them and they will handle. Basically, the local dealer "buys" the watch and presents itself as the owner to Breitling. That's the only way you can get away with it. If anyone other than an AD tells you they can provide full warranty, you will have to take the watch to them if it needs repair - you cannot send it directly to a Breitling repair facility.

IMO, if you're dropping several thousand dollars / pounds on a watch - the extra 20% you may pay to an AD is worth it for resale and piece of mind. "Most" people do not want to buy a used timepiece that was originally purchased in the gray market.

With a full warranty (punctured and stamped) you can send it to the factory without problems.

bnewbie is correct. For some reason Interwatches provide their watches with the warranty card stamped by the AD that sold the watch to Interwatches. It blows my mind because it creates a ton of risk for the AD, but there you go.

Interestingly, although Breitling make a big deal about online sellers they don't seem to take the simple step of buying a watch from Interwatches themselves to find the AD and then firing the AD for breach of contract. Makes you think......

I'd like to know what the criteria is that Breitling uses to determine who they will allow to be an AD.

I may be bias as I live in downtown Chicago, but it's not hard to find Breitling dealers. Considering the serious service problems I had with my Breitling AD when my 9 month old watch needed warranty work, BUSA wasn't very helpful at all.

Consequently, it wouldn't surprise me if Breitling was turning a blind eye to a major non-authorized dealer - especially in this economy. It's really the only thing that disappoints me about Breitling.

Interwatches are a bricks and mortar store who also happen to sell online. I guess it's similar to somewhere like Blowers here in the UK who often sell watches (both in store and on-line) as "Pre-owned unworn", meaning they are brand new but not being sold from the original AD.

Got it! That makes more sense.
