I definitely prefer the same, although mainly I just don't like the silver (white) subdials. It's the main reason that I wasn't able to pull the trigger on a Chrono Superocean a few months back (I've since seen the white w/ blue subs and think that may be growing on me...).

It varies by watch for me.

Navitimers simply MUST have white/silver subdials IMHO. (My exception is the Navi World I own, but that is all white/silver)

Some other watches look great with the same colour subdials - Chronomats for example. It varies by watch.

While at times I can appreciate subdials being a different color I just can't buy a watch unless ithe subdials are the same color. Weird because I find myself always looking at them, but I can't commit to buying one.

I'll disagree with Driver8 on the Navitimer - being a vintage guy a 50s Navitimer is THE Navitimer to me, but otherwise it doesn't really bother me in and of itself, it's just down to the overall look of the watch. I do like the look of dark subs on light dials, but otherwise it depends on the overall package.

I prefer subdials that are somehow set apart from the face, but they HAVE to pair the colors, it can't be striking or gaudy. So the subdials could either be a subtle white, grey, or silver, or be the same color as the face with a nice bezel ring around them. See my Chrono in my avatar to the left--I LOVE the way they're the face blue, with the rose gold bezels. Looks so nice in person.

Black Face, Silver Subs a classic combination on the Navitimer :lingsrock:

But then again Silver on silver also looks good.

All down to personal choice.
