Can You Help Me...I've got a Shark! Feb 20, 2007 - 02:30 AM

This one is a little odd...took it in trade. The Dial says" Breitling 1884
Shark
Automatic
300m 1000ft

Bottom of the dial under 6:00 says
Manufact. En Suisse

The watch has a white dial, and is about 40mm without the crown. I have had a few Chronomats, but this is all new.
If you have info on the watch or know where I can get a few links I would be very grateful.

Welcome to the forums, Craig!

The Breitling Shark is a watch that was made in the late 80's and early 90's, prior to the introduction of the Colt. It was made in several varieties which included an Automatic, Quartz, Quartz Chrono and Automatic Chrono. Exact dates I am unsure of, but I've made an entry in the System for the Shark. Any info you can provide would be great.. if you can provide Weight, and the reference number from the back that would be awesome.

I was told the movement is based on the ETA 2824, an early version of the B17.

Here is the page on the Breitling Shark Automatic on this site.. i'll add the others eventually as well:
