Hi Everyone,

I new to this site.... I need help, I brought my first Breitling about a year ago. I have a Chronomat Evolution... Great watch love it.

I just recently brought a Rapport Captain's Double Watch Winder.

My question... I put my watch in the winder to wind the watch, but for some reason my watch stops after a few days. I'm I using the wrong watch winder or is there something wrong with my watch?

The winder have (2) modes, constant and timed. I tried both and same results.

First off, wind the watch manually. Give it about 35-40 turns. This will help the winder keep the power reserve to an acceptable level. Set your winder to an alternating wind (L-R wind), and you should't have any problems.

which ways is your winder turning? if i remember correctly the calibre 13 only winds clockwise, so if you have it going counter clockwise, it might actually not be winding at all.

I tried the manually winding the watch and set the watch winder on clockwise and counterclockwise motion. Also I tried both setting, constant and timed.

How fast does the watch winder have to spin? When I shake the watch for a second or two, the second on the watch is moving, which states that the spring was wind for a second. But for some reason when I put in the watch winder the second on the watch does not move.

Did I purchased a wrong watch winder for the Breitling?

Hi Tommy

I think your problem might be with the watch itself....
Go to a watchmaker and ask him/her to put it on the timing machine, and read the result. I think your beat is off.
Good luck!

I have a couple of Rapport winders, and my Caliber 13's stay wound in them for at least a week or two IF (big if) they are more or less fully wound before putting them onto the winder. If you just shake your watch to get it moving, then put it in the winder, i'd be surprised if it ran for anything more than a few hours.

NOTE: I moved this thread to the Help forum.
