I am not sure how to say this so I will just come out with it!
I am no longer a Breitling owner!
Today I traded my wonderful cockpit, I got a great deal after much research and now have something I have always wanted... An Omega Constellation Double Eagle Perpetual calendar, the one with the high end quartz movement that is good to +- 5-10 seconds a year!

I think it was Carl and his recent Omega purchase that really got me thinking. I am an Omega man, my first real high quality watch was an Omega but over the years I was not keen on the direction they took untill the last few years.

The constellation has always been a must have watch for me, I love it's history and it's place in Omega folk law.

I did lot's of research and found how much I could get for my cockpit, even put a few feelers out there but still Time and Gold as per usual were magnificent and gave me the best deal!

I won't go into detail on that deal but suffice to say I am a happy man and I own two new watches now (the other being a Tissot T touch that they threw in as a sweetner on the deal) add to that the extended warrenties on both and free batteries for life and I think I got a great deal!

If it is OK I still want to hang out here, I have made some great friends including locally both Carl and Nelson (admin).

I know one day soon I will have another Breitling ( I hope one of the cosmo's!) but untill then I am in 7th heaven with my new Omega!

Seriously Ian, if it's a watch you have wanted for a while then why the heck not - it's your watch and your money. We'll still be here when you come back from the darkside (not just an OImega, a quartz Omega ).

All joking aside, that Omega is a beautiful watch! It's unfortunate that it can't share wrist time with the Cockpit, but something tells me that you will find the right Cosmo soon enough. Happy hunting!

Ian, I'm shocked! I thought that Cockpit would be wth you forever...... but then I guess a few might've said that about my Le Mans with me too!

The Constellation is a lovely looking piece, but it's always a shame to lose an mechanical fan.

EDIT - Just noticed your updated about looking for a Cosmo! Yay!!! Good work my friend! Phew, you had us all worried there for a moment, Ian!

Do not worry, I am at this moment thinking of ways to manifest a Cosmo, there will definately be a Breitling in my near future! Till then I have three other mechanicals and one vintage one on the way soon so I have not left the fold.
As you only too well know, when the time is right, you just know it and have to act upon that gut feeling, I tell that to my clients every day, If I did not do it myself then I would be a bit of a hypocrite!
