I'm not generally a square / rectangular / tonneau shaped case fan either, but I think it's the dial combo and jumping hour that puts people off more. The Flying B Chrono has a lot more fans, and that's the same case.

I think the one posted by the OP is a particularly bad looking one. There are some much better colorways available. Plus, they look way better in person.

Their looks have grown on me, but the one in the OP looks like a bathroom scale to me. The chrono looks nice though.

I rather like the Flying B, but only in the silver or copper accents. I put one on my wrist during my last visit to the AD and it was real nice, not nice enough for the price tag but nice nonetheless.

They are not that bad. I've tried several at my AD but I'd rather go for the Chrono and then the regular No3 before this one. At the moment a Flying B Chrono is unfortunately one of the few Breitlings (not in my watchbox) that I'd love to have. But with the pricetag there's at least two other brands that might sneak in before a Chrono appears.

I’ve always felt the Flying Bs were about a marketing strategy (now there's an oxymoron...for a moron's 'profession') to separate the Bentley range from the traditional Breitlings.

The Flying B shares very few of the features/look that most people dig about Breitlings, and whilst they may one day be a classic, for now, I don’t think the design has worked. They have always been over priced.

Personal taste is such a contentious area, but it may be reasonable to consider that compared to the brand’s vast array of great designs, any Breitling owner who first selects a Flying B may not really get what Breitling watches are all about. Just by virtue of its shape, it can’t have a bezel – and bezels are a touchstone of Breitling design.

On another note, I’m glad to see the new Basel 2009 GTs have such horrendous styling! Makes my old school GT with silver sub-dials more precious… and instantly recognisable as a Breitling!

I reckon a good deal on a Flying B would be 80% off – seriously, they’re just not cool!

Now that is definitely true - in many ways it's true of most of the Bentley range, but the Flying B is perhaps the worst example.

Ugly? No way! Although it's not the best looking ling i've seen, i'd still put it into the top 30 percentile of luxury watches, far from ugly IMHO.
