Did a search and haven't really found much talk about the Co-Pilot module

I'm wondering who has experienced and/or owned a co-pilot, and what your thoughts are. If so, what model did you see it on?

Is it useful in actuality? (more so for pilots, or others, too? I could see the takeoff and landing times actually useful for flying) Does it look okay in person, or appear to be a distractful add-on?

I like the pics of it on the Breitling site, but as a $1,100 - $2,000 add-on, it would have to be actually useful to deliberately choose that!

On a side note, it looks to me that Breitling offers certain models with it already installed, but per model there's only one face color. (i.e. black face dial for the Airwolf with co-pilot) Wondering if that's true.

I am thinking about getting the Co-Pilot Module for my Chronomat. I actually seen the EVO at my AD with the Co-pilot module in person, and looked pretty nice. Most people though don't like the new LCD ones. They like the older analog UTC's which are discontinued and HARD to find. I don't know if i want to spend $2200 on the new C0-Pilot (quoted by my dealer). If i have extra cash laying around i might go for it...

Here is the Co-Pilot on the EVO...

The old UTC is very popular, sometimes for practical reasons, sometimes because it just looks so darn cool.

The co-pilot has very little love, especially as it replaced the UTC. Most people consider that to be a significant step backwards.

I really like the copilot on models with digital screens, even more so than the UTC. On analog dials though, I think the UTC fits much better. I bet its not very popular because its so expensive, not because people dont think it looks good.

I don't think anyone on here has one, mainly because of the added price. I think this would be cool on a digital watch but would look bad on an automatic. Just MHO

The Copilot undoubtedly has more functionality that the old UTC and is very much in keeping with the digi screen equiped models like the Airwolf, etc. But I'd never dream of teaming one with a mechanical analogue watch - the old UTC was much nicer aesthetically. Breitling should've kept both IMO.

seriously considering getting one for my grey airwolf. Never have seen a steel one in the flesh, but I'm sure it will look the part. Price is of course a sticking point. Approx $A4000 inc. a new bracelet. I did see Authentic watches with them 30% less than that. What's the deal with them? Are they an AD or what?
From what I gather if you start the stopwatch, it will record the start time, then subsequently the stop time. Can anyone confirm this?

Authentic Watches are not AD's - they are grey market internet dealers, but they are well known and sell all genuine stuff. Be careful they don't remove serial numbers as they used to on a lot of their stock. That seems far less prevalent now, but it pays to check. They also retain things like the official warranty card (and maybe the COSC certificate), although I'm not sure what a Co-pilot comes with anyway.

I see you are Oz based so you may have trouble dealing with them as they used to not accept Paypal (not sure if that's still the case) and they are INCREDIBLY difficult to communicate with - emails can take days to be replied to, and sometimes not replied to at all.......... at least, it certainly was like that a year or so back. If you can deal with them at arm's length, make the payment and not have to actually interact with them you are probably likely to be OK. Just don't expect much as an international buyer in terms of good ol' customer service!

PS - I am speaking here from my own personal experience of making enquiries to them (comments in the Feedback section too), but if any other international buyer has more uptodate knowledge, let Davo know.

good one, I'll keep your experience in mind. I'd rather an AD to get all documents guaranteed.
