Does anyone know if the Bentley movements are decorated more or of a higher grade?

I don't know about that, just that servicing a Bentley is much more expensive than a regular Breitling (at least in Japan) - it's close to double the cost.

In terms of size, there is 0.6mm range between the following:

Navitimer
Cosmonaute
Olympus
Mark VI (all three of them)

Let me add my 2 cents worth....

The Breitling for Bentley is very much like the car..... a standard engine (VW) inside a lovely wrapper......
Obviously at a huge premium....

The Navitimer is simply an enduring classic for people who like iconic things....... The Navi first came out in the 50s as a pilots tool..... A Bentley has always been for CADS.... only now you don't need to purchase a 1/2 million dollar car to do so..... no sir yea! Now you can tell the world you are a CAD by purchasing a US$10,000- watch!

Personally I don't like CADS or DANDYS! .....so I will stick with the traditional Navitimer!

Sorry, no offense taken.

Really? A standard VW engine in a Bentley?

Yes, Bentley is a subsidiary of Volkswagen Group Ltd. but to say that there is the standard VW engine under the hood is a bit....uh....untrue.

Engines in the current Bentleys range from a minimum cubic displacement of 5998cc to 6761cc making from 450base horsepower up to 552bhp. If I recall the top of the line VW engine currently in production is a 2500cc displacement engine capable of producing 170 BHPor a 2000cc engine with 200 BHP.

A bit of difference in my opinion.

Hmmm.... I'm a CAD and a Dandy too! Thanks for letting me know Archie. I suppose if I had a collection of purses and womens jewelry in a showcase in my living room, I would be cool :nana:

Standard VW engine in a Bentley?... come on. While 4.2l 305hp V8 engine in my VW is a work of art, it is certainly not found under the hood of a Bentley.

Random House Dictionary - An ill-bred man, especially one who is dishonorable or irresponsible in his behavior towards women.

Princeton dictionary - One who is morally reprehensible. A "dirty dog."

Other definitions:
-In the poetry book "A Rosary" it is defined as "one who snobs dislike."
-synonymous with "douche bag" (at least when used in various articles to describe actor Zach Braff)

Sorry, I wasn't trying to correct you, as you said "current". My VW is a 2004 so you are probably right about the current offerings. :D

I appreciate that.

Seems with Archie you have to follow behind and proof-read.

I think the VW Phaeton was available with a W12, similar to the one found in the continental GT. Its obviously a detuned version though. Technically speaking, I suppose there is some truth to the argument, but realistically, there is really no truth to Bentleys having the same engines as VWs.
