Does anybody know what the price would be in euros for a diamond bezel for a chronomat evolution. Diamonds on the top of the bezel but not on the sides..

Are we talking authentic or aftermarket from eBay? I've seen aftermarket units go from $599 to $5000 depending on the weight etc.

Additionally you will struggle to find a genuine factory diamond bezel anywhere. Breitling only sell them with watches - i.e. not as an aftersales add ons. And you hardly ever see people selling them without the watch attached.

authentic would be prefered. I looked at liori diamonds of new york. They have a 2.00 carat bezel for $999. and a 2.40 carat for $1299. 5.50 ct for $2899

What does breitling use and charge. Do they give you a choice of carats as well.?

Also, what would be best (carats) on the evolution. Im not a diamond connoseur, just like the look. Is there a noticable to the naked eye difference between the quality of the diamonds or is it something that really only an expert can see?

There is quite a bit of MSRP difference between an Evo with a diamond bezel and one without. An example would be the head only prices (US 2008).

Head Only evo $4540
Head only evo with diamond bezel $10860

So if it were available alone, which I doubt it is, it would be expensive! Nothing beats authentic, but at those prices you can get an aftermarket blingy bezel... AND another Ling

They do seem to do a very brisk aftermarket business. There are members here who have bought from them. Iwould await their response on their pleasure/displeasure with the experience.

You probably wont notice the difference, but some people certainly can. Breitling uses very, very high grade diamonds and sets them perfectly into a bezel that was made for them. The aftermarket jewelers take a standard bezel and mill it out for the rather average diamonds. The easiest way to spot the difference is that one the aftermarket jobs you can see some of the tips of the minutes markers on the bezel that were not fully milled out. Look closely at the pictures and youll see it. As far as real world differences though, they will look pretty similar to the untrained eye.

hi guys, would you happen to know if the evo bezel is compatible with the blackbird big date?

That might bother me. I am curious what others who have gone this road have to say. It would be a shame to spend lots of cash on a so.so.. bezel.

I think it might work.

That is always the massive giveaway for me too - seeing the unmilled tips of the minute markers on the bezel. Also you'll always notice (if you look closely) that the settings just aren't as clean as factory. It's not surprising really given the size of the area these aftermarket guys are working in, but that in itself would be more than enough to keep me away from aftermarket diamonds........ if I wanted one.

Each to their own of course, but I am a total perfectionist when it comes to watches and if it's not PERFECT then I'm not interested.

Here in the UK, the factory diamond bezel puts an extra £5000 on the cost of an SA, which is frankly unjustified IMO considering the fact that it's only 1.23 carats of diamonds.... and that's spread over 80 diamonds! They are little more than diamond chips (each one is just 1.5 points), BUT they do look nice and you know they are matched and set perfectly.

At that price though I'm just glad I'm not in the market for a diamond bezel!

I believe the tips that were mentioned before are much more noticeable on the SA than the Evo, but the same rule applies. Nothing compares to authentic, but the price is way more than I would care to pay
